The Movement

AKA .

The movement is a group of progressive young people and by young we are not age restrictive but for as long as one feels young at heart energized and eager to be part of the change process.

The movemnt aspires to create a platform not only for young people to advocate for good governance and economic emancipation for all but also to create a platform for young people to step into the governance arena and take the role of change agents.

Through this platform young people will aspire for political leadership from as lower a level as ward offcial all the way to the presidency because we believe that the change we desire can not come simply through calling for that change but through getting involved.

This dream has been conceived after realising that while young people have been instrumental in every change of government, they have often times if not all the times been relegated to the terraces to watch while the older generation of politicians enjoy with their relatives and acquaintances every other opportunity from appointments to employments as well as business opportunities.

We are here now saying time has come for young people to take up the leadership roles in order for our potential to be exploited for the good of our country.

Zambia today is ranked among the wealthy countries in terms of our mineral endowments yet we remain classified as one of the poorest countries in the world all because of selfishness and lack of leadership that would harness these potential for the welbeing of the country and its citizens.

After realizing our independence politically 59 years ago it has now become very clear that we must get our economic independence and the young people will lead the way towards that realization.

This movement therefore is for zambians with progressive minds and who desires so see change and so it starts with you and me.

SIMPLY PUT WE ARE A MOVEMENT THAT DESIRES TO BRING ABOUT GOOD GOVERNANCE THAT WILL GUARANTEE ECONOMIC FREEDOM/INDEPENDENCE OF ZAMBIANS AND ZAMBIA AS A COUNTRY.

JOIN IN AND BE THE CHANGE YOU WISH TO SEE.

THE COMMUNITIES WITH MINERALS SHOULD RETURN 20% OWNERSHIP OF ANY MINE OPERATIONS.

Dear minister of Mines: Hon Kabuswe.

I wish to comend you and government in general for announcing that you re-negotiated the deal that was signed between Mopani Copper mines and Glenco and that a new partner is set to come on board.

I wish to let you know that on behalf the many Zambian young people who have joined the movement which is calling for the Emancipation of Zambians we are now demanding that as you finalize the Mopani deal please return 20 % of the ownership of that mine for the communities of Kitwe and mufulira.
Further note that going forward we expect you to realign the mining policy to now dictate that the communities where any mining operations will be taking place will from now going forward return 20% ownership for the development of that community.

Note further that we expect you not long from now to realign the mining policy to dictate that government will now start operating mines where precious minerals are mined and that 20 % ownership will be given to the communities where those precious minerals are being mined.

Failure to adhere to this demand we wish to inform all the mining operators that we the young people on that opportune time will do a compulsory take over of all such mines that will not have a 20% share for the community.

I know that in one way or another this mesage will reach you my brother but we will write to you officially.

Yours faithfully

Hon Binwell Mpundu NKANA MP

BANK OF ZAMBIA TELLS COURT “NO BANK WAS SOLD AT K300 MILLION”

A Witness from The Bank of Zambia has told the Lusaka Magistrate court that the bank of Zambia is not aware of any commercial bank that was sold at K300 million.

Besant Mwanza, a Director at Bank of Zambia says there is no bank that was ever sold to former Nkoloma ward councilor Tasila Lungu or any councilor.

This is in a case in which former president Edgar Lungu’s Daughter Tasila has dragged Chitambala Mwewa of Simon Mwewa Lane TV to court for Cyber bullying and libel.

Tasila alleges that Mwewa on September 15, 2021 published on his page claiming that she was being investigated for suspicious purchase of a named bank together with all the assets worth 300 million.

In count two, Mwewa is charged with cyber bullying. The matter has however been
adjourned to 5th May 2022.

THOMAS SIPALO WRITES

MAYBE HIDEN OR PARKED NOT ABANDONED!...

According to media reports these cars were found abandoned in a yard in makeni and have since been seized and they are looking for the owner?
To me it doesn't make sense,
Whose yard were they 'abandoned'...
Who ordered them from Japan?
Which boarder did they use?
Who cleared them?
Which bank transferred the money to Japan?
To me this seizure story dont make sense at all...Why not investigate first, establish the owner and how they were bought before celebrating the discovery, what if they were just merely parked and were genuinely imported and acquired?
I dont think a normal person can abandon cars in an unknown yard without any trace,am sure a guard or guards were there.
If they were found in the middle of no where I could have agreed with the abandon story not mu yard ya munthu maybe hidden could have made sense not ABANDON. ...🚶‍♂️

FROM THE MAST: FAZ DIDN'T PAY US!

From the SUN FM …NYAMBE MULENGA ALSO HAS SAID THE SAME THING THIS MORNING..,,
..we only received allowances,
winning bonuses from govt - Mweene

By Darious Kapembwa

AFRICA Cup winning players have sharply reacted to claims by former FAZ president Boniface Mwamelo that they were paid from the AfCON prize money challenging him to produce evidence of bank transfers to each player’s account since they received none.

On the 10th anniversary marked on February 12 since Zambia famously beat a start-studded Didier Drogba led Cote d’Ivoire side 8-7 on penalties to lift the trophy for the first time in the country’s
history, captain of the that triumphant side Christopher Katongo revealed that team members were never paid anything from the prize money by the previous FAZ executive which has evoked a lot of debate among stakeholders.

But Mwamelo, who was vice-president then, in a recent interview rebutted Katongo’s claims saying players were paid even though he could not remember how much it was which the aggrieved players vehemently deny.

“The players were paid, the prize money came after we had comeback. So what we did was we got their bank details, the money from the prize
money was given [to the players] via bank transfers” Mwamelo added: “They got the money, that I am confirming. It is only that these guys at FAZ they have got the records but you know it has
been 10 years so I can’t say off the
how much it was but they got the money.”

But goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene, who plays for African giants Mamelodi Sundowns in South Africa, called this reporter yesterday and gave an
unsolicited interview where he challenged Mwamelo to produce proof of payment and wondered how a whole vice-president can fail to tell how much they paid players but still claim that they were paid.

Mweene reiterated Katongo’s statement that the only money players received during the AfCON were winning bonuses and daily allowances
from the government and nothing from the prize money as Mwamelo claimed.
He also said it was an insult for anyone to suggest that the former players were being pushed by people with an agenda saying they were
old enough to be conned by anyone.

“The only money we got is winning bonuses and daily allowances straight from government and this money was being paid cash by the
government accountant, and we were signing. The record is there. We did not receive anything from FAZ,” Mweene said with emphasis.

“And they should not make us look like we are broke. We are suffering that is why we are talking about this. Some of us are still playing football, most of our colleagues are now coaches - they are working. We just want to set the record straight that we did not
receive any money from FAZ. And it is an insult to suggest that we are being pushed. That we have an agenda, being pushed by who? We wanted
to know and we still want to know which player received money from FAZ. We are old enough. We have a group as players, we have discussed
this. No one can push us. Banks keep records. Let them go to the bank and get a print out to show which player got the prize money from
FAZ.”

He challenged Mwamelo to tell people the truth saying he was holding a senior position not know the truth.

“We can expose our bank details. We received daily allowances and winning bonuses from government yes. It’s disrespectful for him to say
we have been paid when we received nothing. He says he doesn’t know the amounts, how can a vice-president of the association not know? Since he spoke publicly that were paid, let him produce the bank details. How can he fail to know the amounts but he says he paid us?” wondered Mweene.

The multiple club and country champion refused to talk about pledges that were made to the team saying it was up to companies that pledged
to confirm if they fulfilled their pledges to FAZ or not.

And Congolese based Rainford Kalaba when contacted disclosed that the only money the players received upon their return to Zambia was the remaining winning bonus from the Cote d’Ivoire game which was paid to them by a government accountant at Pamodzi Hotel after the trophy parade ceremony in the showgrounds.

“The only money we got I remember pa Pamodzi ni winning bonus iyaba Ivory Coast that’s all. Let him produce evidence of who got rewarded from the prize money. We can’t just wake up today
and start talking about this. We have been quiet for 10 years just because of the respect we have for the government thinking promises will be fulfilled but then we said okay this 10th anniversary let’s
remind these people. What have we gained? It’s lack of respect to say we have been paid when we haven’t,” he said.

“Don’t just talk, produce evidence that you paid us. Government yes paid us bonuses and allowances. That’s the only thing we benefited and people used to build houses not the prize money. So if government didn’t pay, we could have come out of the tournament with nothing. Tekulandafye (don’t just speak) give the media proof.”

Kalaba also suggested that the current national team was not doing well because spiritually people [former players] harboured complaints
in their hearts about unfulfilled promises.

“We must be together in spirit that our team must win not where others are not happy,” he said adding that Zambia was for every Zambian.

"...you promise a child that I will buy you a car when you pass but 10 years goes and a child is not reminding you. You have to get worried
as a parent," Kalaba said.
He also said the pledge by former local government minister Nkandu Luo to give them houses for their triumph had not been fulfilled to date.

Isaac Chansa, who is now coach at City of Lusaka, declined to talk about the issue because he and colleagues were still discussing the next
collective action.

Dear Ms. Sharma,

RE: ZAMBIA AND IMF STAFF LEVEL AGREEMENT-DEMAND FOR FULL DISCLOURE

Season's Greetings.

We make reference to the above subject matter.
On December 6th 2021, the Zambian government and the International Monetary Fund announced that they had reached a Staff Level Agreement on a new arrangement under the Extended Credit Facility (ECF) for 2022-2025 to help restore macroeconomic stability and provide the foundation for an inclusive economic recovery.
It is exactly a month since this agreement was reached and the people of Zambia do not know of its contents. On the other hand, the Zambian authorities who have refused to disclose the full contents of the agreement have gone ahead to institute wide ranging sector reforms with constant reference to the agreement.

We believe that it is only fair that you, the instigators of this agreement releases the full contents of this agreement. Globally, there is a call for greater transparency in the manner in which multilateral and bilateral loans are contracted. Your Managing Director Ms. Kristalina Georgieva is on record demanding China to disclose the terms of the loans it has been disbursing to countries such as Zambia. It therefore follows that you should practice what you preach by causing to publish the Staff Level Agreement and stop the hypocrisy. We demand that this is done before the IMF Board convenes to approve the agreement.

The Fund is reminded that Zambians have rejected any conditions to be imposed as part of an economic programme. The memories of the 1990s Structural Adjustment Programme which crippled our economy are still fresh and Zambia does not have any grave spaces left.

Looking forward to a favourable response.

Sincerely,

Hon. Bowman C. Lusambo

ACC SEARCH AT MY RESIDENCE

I wish to confirm that a team of officers from the Anti-Corruption Commission yesterday forced their way into my private residence in Chamba Valley on the pretext of conducting a search for undisclosed items.

They arrived just after 09 Hours in the morning and conducted their operation until 14:30 Hours. They arrived at my property with Journalists to create drama about the so called search.

At the time of the purported search, I was not present as I was away in Ndola visiting my Constituency.

Without identifying themselves and uttering any search warrant, the officers forcibly proceeded to access my property including the master bedroom where my wife was dressing up as she prepared to go and attend a funeral. The officers did not explain what they were searching for and presented a rude demeanor to my wife, my children and House Staff. They even searched my wife’s handbag and grabbed money for relish. The officers also ended up grabbing my wife’s mobile phones and another one which is nonfunctional, a licensed gun and some drawings of a building for a proposed police post we intend to construct for the people of Kabushi. Infact the said drawings which the officers confiscated were submitted to our Building Committee by the Police High Command.

As stated before, I am a law abiding citizen and I have never at any point failed to cooperate with any legally instituted investigation, be it criminal or civil. What I will not succumb to is intimidation and harassment using state institutions. The officers being used in such operations should realise that Zambia does not belong to any one individual who is giving them illegal orders. Time will surely come when they will answer for their actions individually. The unprofessionalism and incompetency by the ACC can be seen in its very low conviction rates. What is ACC’s interest in a licensed gun? If there was any problem with my gun, Zambia Police would have been the appropriate agency to come and question me about its possession and use.

In a functional society where rules of natural justice apply, the ACC should have written to my lawyers stating why they needed to search my property, obtain a search warrant and present it to me in the presence of my lawyers who should be present for the entire duration of the search. If they find anything incriminating, they should then summon us for questioning and if at all they feel they have enough to form a prosecutable case, present us before a Magistrate and then meet us in court.

Now ACC officers want to act as if they are a law unto themselves. We will not allow the UPND to misconduct themselves using state institutions. To President Hichilema, the five year mandate you received from Zambians does not give you a license to wantonly abuse state institutions.

Zambia is for us all and we are not running away to any other place. We are still here and even if you eliminate us today, our children will come and inherit our resolve to create a better Zambia, for all.
