Awareness Post — With Love, Respect & Understanding

Monday I had an interview with via Tik Tok and we spoke deeply about the great legend Jimmy Cliff, my friend. We also spoke about the situation in Jamaica, and afterward I received some very important and heartfelt questions from people across many different communities.
Let me say this clearly: I am not a politician, and I cannot tell the government how to handle this situation — especially under the present circumstances. But there was one particular shout from the community that truly struck a chord with me and with many of the viewers, and because of that, I felt it was important to share this awareness message.
As we continue to support the relief efforts for Jamaica, I kindly ask everyone to have consideration and compassion. Our island is rich with diversity — spiritually, culturally, and dietary-wise. Many people from various communities do not eat meat, are vegetarian or vegan, or have allergies and dietary restrictions.
Please remember our Rasta community, Muslim community, Hindu community, Buddhist community, and many others who follow specific dietary practices.
On top of this, we must also acknowledge another challenge:
Our fishermen are currently unable to go out to sea, which is causing a serious issue for many families who depend on fresh food from the ocean. This makes the need for thoughtful, inclusive, and practical donations even more important right now.
To help support ALL communities, here are some non-perishable and inclusive food options that can go a long way:
🌱 Veggie chunks / TVP
🌽 Canned vegetables & beans
🍚 Rice, pasta, quinoa
🥥 Coconut milk
🍲 Tinned soups (vegetarian/vegan options)
🥜 Peanut butter, nuts, seeds
🌾 Oats & cereal
🫘 Chickpeas, lentils, peas (dried or canned)
🍞 Crackers, biscuits (non-dairy options where possible)
As we give, support, and serve, let us do so with awareness, respect, and inclusivity — for every single person affected, regardless of background, belief, or diet.
