এপেন্ডিসাইটিস এ আক্রান্ত রোগীর পেট কাটার পর একটি ভিন্ন ধরনের এপেনডিক্স দেখা যায়, যাকে চিকিৎসা বিজ্ঞানের ভাষায় বলা হয় "রেট্রোসিকাল এপেন্ডিক্স"।

এই এপেনডিক্সটি সাধারণত খুঁজে পাওয়া অনেক কঠিন এবং রোগীটির পেটের মেসেন্টারির রুট নামক স্থানে খুঁজে পাওয়া যায়৷ অভ্যন্তরীণ প্রদাহের কারনে এপেনডিক্সটি ফুলে ৬ সে:মি: হয়ে গিয়েছিলো।
