আবার শুরু থেকে পড়ছি। যে পৃষ্ঠাগুলো পড়া বাকি ছিলো, সেগুলো সহ টানা পড়ে যাচ্ছি ইদানীং। এই মুহুর্তে আছি ফেব্রুয়ারির মাঝামাঝি ।

বাতিঘর ঢাকায় গেলে সঞ্জীবদার কারেন্ট রিড গুলোর খোঁজ নেই৷ ওঁনার রেকমেন্ডেশনে দুর্দান্ত সব বই খুঁজে পেয়েছি নানা সময়ে। ঈদের আগে দেখছিলাম ওনার সেসময় পড়া ৩টি বই। এর মাঝে অন্তত দুইটা সম্ভবত ভবিষ্যতে পড়বো বা সংগ্রহ করবো।

বুকশপে গেলে আপনাদের বই সাজেস্ট করেন এমন কারও কথা শেয়ার করতে পারেন কমেন্টে।

ডন কিহোতে সমাচার!

It feels great to find Book References in movies or series if it's done well. Recently I've been watching this new series that I'm loving called " New Amsterdam ". The series is based on the book - "Twelve Patients: Life and Death at Bellevue Hospital" by Eric Manheimer. I loved this particular scene where in the story, both these doctors know about the story of Don Quixote, which was portrayed beautifully by the director. These scenes are representations of a good show in my opinion as it shows a demonstration of knowledge, wit, and effort from the makers' end.

Don Quixote is a Spanish epic novel by Miguel de Cervantes. It was originally published in two parts, in 1605 and 1615. Considered a founding work of Western literature, it is often labeled as the first modern novel and the greatest work ever written. Don Quixote is also one of the most translated books in the world and one of the best-selling novels of all time.

সেবা প্রকাশনী থেকে প্রকাশিত অনুবাদে নাম ছিলো ডন কুইকসোট। তবে উচ্চারণ হয় ডন কিহোতে হিসেবেই। ডন কিহোতের লেখকের মৃত্যু দিন উপলক্ষেই মূলত বিশ্ব বই দিবস পালিত হয় ২৩ এপ্রিলে।

অনেকে নতুন ভিডিও / ছবি / সামনা সামনি দেখার পর আমাকে চিনতে পারছেন না বলে জানিয়েছেন 😅। তাঁদের জ্ঞাতার্থে জানিয়ে রাখি, হেয়ারকাট, কিংবা আউটলুক যেমনই হোক না কেন, উস্কুখুস্কু কিংবা ফিটফাট সবগুলো মিলিয়েই আমি। ছোটবেলায় মুহম্মদ জাফর ইকবাল এর লিখা একটা কিশোর উপন্যাস পড়েছিলাম - স্কুলের নাম পথচারী। বেশ পছন্দের বই৷ সেই বইতে এক লোক ছিলেন, শীতকালে তাঁর লম্বা চুল দাড়ি থাকতো। আবার গরমকালে উনি একেবারে ক্লিন শেভড ন্যাড়া মাথা হয়ে যেতেন! উনি নিজে যে স্কুল প্রতিষ্ঠা করেছিলেন প্রথমবার গ্রীষ্মে তাঁকে চিনতে না পেরে সেই স্কুলের দারোয়ান ওনাকেই ওনার স্কুলে ঢুকতে দেননি! কী একটা অবস্থা। আমাকে দেখেও যারা অবাক হচ্ছেন তাঁরাও হয়তো আমাকে অল্পদিন চেনেন বলে নানান লুকে দেখে অভ্যস্ত নন। দীর্ঘদিন ধরে চিনলে হয়তো জানার কথা যে যেমনই দেখাক না কেন, আমি তো আমিই! এই লম্বা বর্ণনার একটা উদ্যেশ্য স্কুলের নাম পথচারী বইটার কথা সবাইকে জানানো৷ না পড়ে থাকলে টুক করে পড়ে ফেলেন৷ হ্যাপি রিডিং৷

এই কফিশপে কফি স্ন্যাক্স এর পাশাপাশি আছে হরেকরকম বই। খেতে খেতে পড়া যায় দিব্যি। ঈদের দিনও খোলা ছিলো। বসে বসে পড়েছি এট্টুখানি। লোকেশন ধানমন্ডিতে। সীমান্ত স্ক্যোয়ার এর পাশেই।
