Kuakata (Bengali: কুয়াকাটা) is a town of Patuakhali located in southern Bangladesh known for its panoramic sea beach. Kuakata beach is a sandy expanse 18 kilometres (11 mi) long and 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) wide. From the beach one can have an unobstructed view of both sunrise and sunset over the Bay of Bengal. The name Kuakata originated from the word 'kua' — the Bengali word for "well" which was dug on the seashore by the early Rakhine settlers (Burmese tribes) in quest of collecting drinking water. They landed on the Kuakata coast in the 18th century after being expelled from Arakan (Myanmar) by the Burmese extremists. Afterwards, it has become a tradition of digging wells in the neighbourhoods of Rakhaine tribes for water. Kuakata is situated in Kalapara Upazila, Patuakhali District. It is about 320 kilometres (200 mi) south of Dhaka, the capital, and about 70 kilometres (43 mi) from the district headquarters.

সস্তায় ফ্লাইট টিকিট কেনার ৭টি কার্যকর টিপস-
সস্তায় ফ্লাইট টিকিট কিনতে কিছু কৌশল জানা থাকলে ভ্রমণের খরচ অনেক কমানো সম্ভব। নিচে এমন ৭টি কার্যকর কৌশল উল্লেখ করা হলো।

১. মঙ্গলবার ও বুধবার টিকিট বুক করুন-
মঙ্গলবার এবং বুধবার হলো সস্তায় টিকিট কেনার সেরা দিন। বেশিরভাগ এয়ারলাইনস মঙ্গলবার সন্ধ্যা ৭টায় তাদের টিকিটের মূল্য আপডেট করে। পরিসংখ্যান বলছে, অধিকাংশ মানুষ শুক্রবার, শনিবার বা রবিবার টিকিটের দাম খোঁজেন। তাই মধ্য সপ্তাহে টিকিট কিনলে দাম তুলনামূলক কম হয়।

২. আগে থেকে টিকিট বুক করুন, তবে অতিরিক্ত আগেও নয়-
ভ্রমণের তারিখের অন্তত ২১ দিন আগে টিকিট কিনুন। এয়ারলাইনস সাধারণত প্রথম কয়েকজন যাত্রীকে সবচেয়ে সস্তা টিকিট দেয়। তবে খুব আগেও বুক করলে বেশি দাম দিতে হতে পারে।

৩. সঠিক দিন নির্বাচন করুন-
মঙ্গলবার বা বুধবার ফ্লাইট বুকিং এবং ভ্রমণের জন্য আদর্শ। এই দিনগুলোতে ভ্রমণকারী তুলনামূলক কম থাকে। তাই টিকিটের দামও কম থাকে।

৪. আন্তর্জাতিক ফ্লাইটের জন্য সেরা অফার খুঁজুন-
আন্তর্জাতিক ফ্লাইটের ক্ষেত্রে ১১-১২ সপ্তাহ আগে টিকিটের সেরা অফার পাওয়া যায়। এই সময়ে নিয়মিত টিকিটের দাম চেক করুন।

৫. ছোট এয়ারপোর্টে ল্যান্ড করুন-
বড় এয়ারপোর্টের পরিবর্তে কাছাকাছি ছোট এয়ারপোর্টে নামার চেষ্টা করুন। যেমন, লন্ডনে যাওয়ার সময় হিথ্রোর পরিবর্তে ম্যানচেস্টার এয়ারপোর্টে নামুন এবং ট্রেনে লন্ডনে যান। এতে খরচ কমে।

৬. ব্রাউজারের 'কুকিজ' পরিষ্কার করুন-
ফ্লাইট টিকিট খোঁজার সময় আপনার ব্রাউজারের কুকিজ পরিষ্কার করুন। না হলে এয়ারলাইন্সের বুকিং সিস্টেম আপনার আগের অনুসন্ধান ধরে নেবে এবং দাম বাড়িয়ে দিতে পারে।

৭. টিকিটের দাম তুলনা করুন-
একটি ওয়েবসাইটে নির্ভর না করে বিভিন্ন সাইটে টিকিটের দাম তুলনা করুন। প্রায়ই দেখা যায়, একই এয়ারলাইন্সের টিকিট অন্য ওয়েবসাইটে সস্তা পাওয়া যায়।

আজ আমার প্রিয় একটি চা এর বিষয়ে আপনাদের জানাবো। যেটি পান করবার জন্য আমি প্রায়ই ১৭ কি.মি. পথের দুরুত্ব অতিক্রম করে অনেক দূরের একটি সাধারণ চায়ের দোকানে যাই।

• বাংলাদেশের উত্তরবঙ্গের কয়েকটি জেলা থেকে এই বছর বেশ পরিষ্কারভাবে কাঞ্চনজঙ্ঘা পর্বতশৃঙ্গ দেখা যাচ্ছে। এই দৃশ্য দেখার জন্য অনেকেই এসব জেলায় ভিড় করছেন। ফেসবুকেও অনেকে কাঞ্চনজঙ্ঘা দেখতে পাওয়ার ছবি পোস্ট করছেন।

• পঞ্চগড়ের এক বন্ধু রোমেল বলেন, ''প্রতি বছরই এই সময়ে আমাদের জেলা থেকে কম বেশি কাঞ্চনজঙ্ঘা দেখা যায়। কিন্তু এই বছরের মতো এতো পরিষ্কারভাবে অনেক বছর দেখা যায়নি।''

- বন্ধু রোমেল জানান, বিভিন্ন সময়ে জেলার প্রায় সব জায়গা থেকেই শুভ্র সাদা বরফে আচ্ছাদিত পর্বতমালাটি দেখা যাচ্ছে। এমনকি কোন কোন স্থান থেকে পর্বতমালার নীচের কয়েকটি শহরের ঘরবাড়ি, আলো, গাড়ি চলাচলও দেখা যাচ্ছে।

• কাঞ্চনজঙ্ঘা ভারতের সিকিম ও নেপাল জুড়ে অবস্থিত। এটি পৃথিবীর তৃতীয় উচ্চতম পর্বতশৃঙ্গ। এর উচ্চতা ৮,৫৮৬ মিটার বা ২৪, ১৬৯ ফুট। কাঞ্চনজঙ্ঘা পর্যটকদের কাছে অন্যতম জনপ্রিয় একটি আকর্ষণ। ভারতের অন্যতম শৈল শহর দার্জিলিং, ঘুম বা কালিম্পংয়ের প্রধান আকর্ষণ কাঞ্চনজঙ্ঘা।

• তেতুলিয়া আবহাওয়া পর্যবেক্ষণ কেন্দ্রের কর্মকর্তা জাহাঙ্গীর আলম বলছেন, ''বছরের এই সময়ে বৃষ্টি হওয়ায় আর বাতাসে ধুলা, মেঘ-কুয়াশামুক্ত থাকায় অনেক দূরের কাঞ্চনজঙ্ঘা পরিষ্কারভাবে দেখা যাচ্ছে। অন্য বছরেও এই সময়ে এখান থেকে এই পর্বত দেখা যায়। তবে এই বছরে আবহাওয়া বেশি পরিষ্কার থাকার কারণে অনেক ভালোভাবে দেখা যাচ্ছে।'' এই বছরে শুধু পঞ্চগড়ই নয়, নীলফামারী ও ঠাকুরগাঁও জেলার কয়েকটি এলাকা থেকে কাঞ্চনজঙ্ঘা দেখা যাচ্ছে। এসব জেলা থেকে এর আগে এই পর্বতশৃঙ্গটি দেখা যাওয়ার খবর পাওয়া যায়নি।

• যারা পঞ্চগড়ে কাঞ্চনজঙ্ঘা দেখতে যাবেন, তারা অবশ্যই নূন্যতম ২ দিন ট্যুরের পরিকল্পনা করে যাবেন, যাতে একদিন দেখা না পেলেও অন্যদিন দেখার সুযোগ পান। যেমন আমরা পঞ্চগড়ে একদিন থেকেছিলাম কিন্তু কাঞ্চনজঙ্ঘা দেখতে পারিনি। যদিও দার্জিলিং যেয়ে দেখেছি, কিন্তু নিজের দেশ থেকে দেখার অনুভূতিটা ভিন্ন রকমের। আরেকটি বিষয় হচ্ছে, ভাগ্য খারাপ হলে, দুইদিন থেকেও হয়তো না দেখার একটি সম্ভাবনা থাকে। সেক্ষেত্রে আগে আপডেট নিয়ে ট্যুর করলে ভাল হয়।
