অনেকে এরই মধ্যে ঈদের ছুটিতে পরিবার পরিজনের সঙ্গে উৎসব পালনে ছুটে গেছেন গ্রামের বাড়ি। যারা বাকি আছেন আজ কালের মধ্যেই নাড়ির টানে ছুটে যাবেন বাড়ি। শহরের কোলাহল থেকে কিছুদিনের নিস্তার মিলবে এ সুযোগে। অনেকেই ঈদে দূরযাত্রায় শখের বাইকটিকেই সঙ্গী করেন।

যানজটে ঘণ্টার পর ঘণ্টা আটকে থাকতে চান না। এছাড়া এসময় গণপরিবহনের টিকিট পাওয়া সোনার হরিণ হাতে পাওয়ার মতোই সৌভাগ্যের। সেসব ঝামেলা এড়াতে দূর যাত্রায় বেছে নেন মোটরসাইকেল। তবে এসময় সতর্ক না হলে দুর্ঘটনার স্বীকার হতে পারেন যে কোনো মুহূর্তে। চলুন জেনে নেওয়া যাক মোটরসাইকেলে দূর যাত্রায় যেসব বিষয় খেয়াল রাখা জরুরি-

>> ট্রাফিক আইন সম্পর্কে স্পষ্ট ধারণা রাখুন। এছাড়া রাস্তায় গাড়ি চালানোর বেসিক নিয়ম-কানুনগুলো জানুন এবং মেনে চলুন

>> হাইওয়েতে মোটরসাইকেল চালানোর সময় এমন রঙের পোশাক পরতে হবে, যেন দূর থেকে আপনার উপস্থিতি নজরে পড়ে। এতে দুর্ঘটনার হাত থেকে খুব সহজেই রক্ষা পাবেন।

>> ঘনঘন ওভারটেকিং করবেন না। বড় গাড়ি বা ট্রাকের মাঝ দিয়ে ওভারটেকিং করতে যাবেন না।

>> যতটা সম্ভব একটি নির্দিষ্ট গতিতে লেন মেনে ড্রাইভ করুন। প্রতিযোগিতা মনভাব এড়িয়ে চলুন।

>> সবচেয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ আরেকটি বিষয় হচ্ছে-মোটরসাইকেল চালানোর সময় ফোনে কথা বলা ও হেডফোন ব্যবহার থেকে বিরত থাকুন। ফোনে কথা বলা বা গান শোনার সময় অন্যমনস্ক হয়ে যাওয়ার অনেক বড় দুর্ঘটনা ঘটতে পারে।

>> মনোযোগ ধরে রাখুন। ঘুম ঘুম চোখে, ক্লান্তি নিয়ে খুব স্পিডে হাইওয়েতে গাড়ি চালাতে যাবেন না। মনোযোগে বিঘ্ন ঘটলে কিছু সময় পরপর প্রয়োজনে বিরতি নিন।
