নতুন বছর মানে শুধুই নতুন দিনের সূচনা নয়, এটা মানে নতুন করে শুরু করার সুযোগ। আসুন আমরা এই বছরটিকে আল্লাহর ইবাদত ও তাঁর সন্তুষ্টি অর্জনের মাধ্যমে শুরু করি। নতুন বছরের প্রথম দিন থেকেই আমরা যেন আল্লাহর ভয় ও সাবধানতা অবলম্বন করি। আমরা যেন গুনাহ থেকে বেঁচে থাকি এবং নেক কাজের প্রতি মনোযোগী হই এবং আমরা আল্লাহর কাছে দোয়া করি যেন তিনি আমাদেরকে এই বছরটিতে সকল প্রকার বিপদ-আপদ থেকে রক্ষা করেন।

হে মুমিনগণ, তোমরা আল্লাহকে ভয় কর এবং প্রত্যেকেই যেন নিজের হিসাব-নিকাশের ব্যাপারে সতর্ক থাকে। তোমরা এমনভাবে ভয় কর যেমন একজন ভয় পায় যে আগুনের সম্মুখীন হয়েছে।” (সূরা আত-তাকওয়া: ১০)

হে মানুষ, তোমরা তোমাদের রবের কাছে ক্ষমা চাও, নিশ্চয়ই তিনি অত্যন্ত ক্ষমাশীল। তিনি তোমাদের জন্য বৃষ্টি বর্ষণ করবেন, তোমাদের সম্পদ ও সন্তান-সন্ততি বৃদ্ধি করবেন এবং তোমাদের জন্য উদ্যান স্থাপন করবেন।” (সূরা নূহ: ১০-১২)
