ডা. ফজলে রাব্বি ১৯৩২ সালের ২১ সেপ্টেম্বর পাবনা শহরের ছাতিয়ানি এলাকায় জন্মগ্রহণ করেন। তিনি ছিলেন ঢাকা মেডিকেল কলেজের প্রফেসর অব ক্লিনিক্যাল মেডিসিন অ্যান্ড কার্ডিওলজিস্ট। এমবিবিএসে প্রথম পার্ট পরীক্ষায় অ্যানাটমি ও ফার্মাকোলজিতে সম্মানসহ এমবিবিএস ফাইনালে শীর্ষস্থান অধিকার করে পেয়েছিলেন ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের স্বর্ণপদক। পাকিস্তানি সেনারা ১৫ ডিসেম্বর তাকে তার বাড়ি থেকে ধরে নিয়ে যায়। দেশ স্বাধীন হওয়ার ২ দিন পর রায়েরবাজার বধ্যভূমি থেকে তার ক্ষতবিক্ষত মরদেহ উদ্ধার করা হয়।

হোসেন শহীদ সোহরাওয়ার্দী ছিলেন গণতন্ত্র ও ন্যায়বিচারের মূর্ত প্রতীক। আপোষহীন এই নেতা সারাজীবন মানুষের অধিকার প্রতিষ্ঠায় লড়াই করে গেছেন। তাঁর অসাম্প্রদায়িক চেতনা ও নেতৃত্ব উপমহাদেশের রাজনীতিতে এক অনন্য দৃষ্টান্ত। ১৯৬৩ সালের ৫ ডিসেম্বর লেবাননের রাজধানী বৈরুতে তিনি মৃত্যুবরণ করেন।

Marking the 10th International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists, ULAB TV screened a digital story at a seminar titled “Courage and Consequence: Journalism’s Unyielding Fight for Justice,” organized by the Center For Critical And Qualitative Studies-CQS at ULAB, in collaboration with UNESCO Dhaka Office. This documentary highlighted the courage and resilience of Bangladeshi journalists facing attacks, lawsuits and threats in their pursuit of truth. ULAB TV, an apprenticeship programme under the Department of Media Studies and Journalism, is the first-ever campus-based television in Bangladesh. It was launched on 27th June in 2013. This television station is run by its members who are the current students of ULAB. It provides them with the opportunity to learn by doing, and thus it facilitates peer teaching and active learning, which is the main essence of journalism education.
