First Bangladeshi Sound Designer to attend Berlinale Talents
It gives us immense pleasure to share that Studio Lonthon Co-Founder, Head of Audio Department, and film producer Oronnok Prithibi has been officially selected to attend the 2024 Berlinale Talents. He is the first sound designer from Bangladesh to earn such an honour.
Prithibi was selected for the Sound Studio segment from over 3,832 applicants from 131 countries of this prestigious event which is a part of the Berlin International Film Festival.
He has been working as a sound designer, supervising sound editor and post-production executive for Studio Lonthon since the company's inception back in 2012. Prithibi is also one of the few multi-talented post-production artists who has official Avid Pro Tools, Dante, Dolby and Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve certifications under his belts and has been working with 40+ clients across 22+ countries in his 10+ year filmmaking career.
His works have been showcased at major international film festivals and streaming platforms.
The Lonthon team wishes him the best for his visit to Berlin this February.

Studio Lonthon's Lonthon Shorts Fund Q1 2024 winning short film project "Songs of Inanimate Life" and its director Tasnova Tabassum Atoshi recently visited our head office in Mirpur, Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Her team officially met with the Lonthon team for the first time and signed the production contract with the company.
Hopefully, we'll have a stellar short film at the end of this quarter...

After 300+ projects and six amazing finalists' rigorous Pitch Battle, our juries found themselves in a difficult place to decide the winner of Studio Lonthon's Lonthon Shorts Fund Q1 2024 winner.
In the last 48 hours, we calculated the merit of each project's plan, screenplay and production readiness and have come to a conclusion to announce director Tasnova Tabassum Atoshi and her film "Songs of Inanimate Life" as the winner.

Finalists of Studio Lonthon's Lonthon Shorts fund | Q1 2024 | Pitch battle:
Congratulations to all of the teams who made it through our rigorous scrutiny.
After a lengthy and complicated debate that took place among our jury members for the past 24 hours and several time zones, we have decided to shortlist six (6) promising projects as the finalists for the Q1 2024 Pitch Battle.
It was a tough process to screen almost 20+ amazing projects among the 300+ submissions. Things got even more complicated as an additional entry had to be selected as three projects were tied after the final markings were done by our jury members.

With over 300+ short film projects submitted in the first quarter, we are thrilled to invite you to the "Lonthon Shorts Fund Q1 2024 Pitch Battle" organised by Studio Lonthon.
Five (5) groundbreaking and thought-provoking short film projects are shortlisted through a meticulous selection process, guided by artistic merit, storytelling prowess, and the potential for impact.
These five young directors/producers and their short film projects were chosen to attend our first Pitch Battle by Studio Lonthon's panel of industry experts and creatives.
Each team will get 15 minutes to showcase the merit of their project in front of our jury and the world.
Lonthon Shorts Fund is a quarterly short film financing platform for young directors and producers which is the first of its kind in South Asia.
We aim to scout, nurture and empower aspiring filmmakers in Bangladesh and strive to contribute to a richer, more varied cinematic landscape that reflects the vast diversity of human experiences in South Asia.
The platform also has a goal to turn this Bangladeshi platform into a global film market and democratise the barrier to entry into the filmmaking industry.

We pray and hope that you will attend the first-of-its-kind ONLINE event as Lonthon Shorts Fund continues its journey, dedicated to fostering a vibrant ecosystem for short filmmakers.
The fund envisions expanding its reach, and budget, forging new collaborations, and being a catalyst for the creation of impactful short films that resonate with audiences worldwide.

We are ecstatic to announce that Lonthon Shorts Fund | Short Film Pitch Deck Submission | Q1 2024 received more than 300 projects from all over Bangladesh.
We were about to announce the winners today but more than 100+ short film projects were submitted within 24 hours of the deadline.
We are currently carefully reviewing each and every one of your film pitch decks and previous works.
Feel free to stay tuned on our website and socials for the next 48 hours as we will post the names of the Five (5) shortlisted projects and the Q1 2024 Pitch Battle will take place on the last week of December.
A lot of the directors and producers who reached out to us and said that they could not finish the complete pitch deck and submitted an incomplete version have nothing to worry about.
The submission link for Q2 (for both Bangladeshi and West Bengal) based filmmakers will also open on our website within the next 24 hours.
We appreciate the wonderful projects that you have sent over to us and hopefully, we will have a cracking first quarter and pitch battle.
