The James Webb Space Telescope has captured this stunning image of Charon, the largest of Pluto’s moons.

Charon is also the largest known moon orbiting any of our solar system’s ‘dwarf planets’.

The moon was discovered in 1978 in a region of the outer Solar System called the Kuiper Belt - way beyond Neptune, the most distant planet in the Milky Way.

The largest diamond found in more than a century has been unearthed at a mine in Botswana.

The Botswana government says the huge 2,492-carat diamond is the second-biggest ever discovered in a mine. It's the biggest diamond found since 1905.

Officials said it was too early to value the stone or decide how it would be sold.

It’s Fossil Friday, so let’s get a leg up on the weekend with these colossal limbs! Snapped circa 1899, this archival photo from the Museum’s digital collections depicts a Museum preparator standing beside the fossilized limbs of dinosaurs discovered in Wyoming. The larger bones belong to sauropods while the smaller bones belong to a theropod—likely Allosaurus.

Mars and Jupiter are cozying up in the night sky for their closest rendezvous this decade! 🌕️🪐🌠 They'll reach their minimum separation during daylight hours Wednesday in most of the Americas, Europe and Africa.

This latest link up of Mars and Jupiter coincides with the Perseid meteor shower, one of the year's brightest showers. No binoculars or telescopes are needed.

In 2026, British holidaymakers heading to Spain's most popular islands may have the opportunity to embark on a unique travel experience aboard the Airlander 10, a 300ft long hybrid airship playfully referred to as the "Flying Bum" due to its distinctive shape.

This innovative mode of transport is set to carry around 100 passengers to destinations like Majorca, Ibiza, and Menorca, all while significantly reducing harmful emissions compared to traditional aircraft.

The Airlander 10s are being developed by the British manufacturer Hybrid Air Vehicle (HAV), combining aerostatic and aerodynamic lift with the added propulsion of diesel-engine propellers. These elliptical-shaped airships are poised to become the world's largest aircraft, boasting dimensions similar to a football pitch in length and standing as tall as six double-decker buses.

The designs for these airships promise a new level of luxury for travelers, providing an exciting and eco-friendly option for holidaymakers heading to Spain's iconic islands.
