وَقَضَى رَبُّكَ أَلاَّ تَعْبُدُوا إِلاَّ إِيَّاهُ وَبِالْوَالِدَيْنِ إِحْسَانًا إِمَّا يَبْلُغَنَّ عِنْدَكَ الْكِبَرَ أَحَدُهُمَا أَوْ كِلاَهُمَا فَلاَ تَقُلْ لَهُمَا أُفٍّ وَلاَ تَنْهَرْهُمَا وَقُلْ لَهُمَا قَوْلاً كَرِيمًا- وَاخْفِضْ لَهُمَا جَنَاحَ الذُّلِّ مِنَ الرَّحْمَةِ وَقُلْ رَبِّ ارْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِي صَغِيرًا- رَبُّكُمْ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا فِي نُفُوسِكُمْ إِنْ تَكُونُوا صَالِحِينَ فَإِنَّهُ كَانَ لِلْأَوَّابِينَ غَفُورًا- (إسراء 23-25)-

‌‌‘আর তোমার প্রতিপালক আদেশ করেছেন যে, তোমরা তাঁকে ছাড়া অন্য কারু উপাসনা করো না এবং তোমরা পিতা-মাতার প্রতি সদাচরণ করো। তাদের মধ্যে কেউ অথবা উভয়ে যদি তোমার নিকট বার্ধক্যে উপনীত হন, তাহ’লে তুমি তাদের প্রতি উহ্ 😭শব্দটিও উচ্চারণ করো না😭 এবং তাদেরকে ধমক দিয়ো না। তুমি তাদের সাথে নম্রভাবে কথা বল’। ‘আর তাদের প্রতি মমতাবশে নম্রতার পক্ষপুট অবনমিত কর💞 এবং বল, হে আমার প্রতিপালক! তুমি তাদের প্রতি দয়া কর যেমন তারা আমাকে শৈশবে দয়াপরবশে লালন-পালন করেছিলেন’। ‘তোমাদের প্রতিপালক তোমাদের অন্তরে যা আছে তা ভালভাবেই জানেন। যদি তোমরা সৎকর্ম পরায়ণ হও, তবে তিনি তওবাকারীদের জন্য ক্ষমাশীল’ (ইসরা/বনু ইস্রাঈল ১৭/২৩-২৫)।
