বাংলাদেশের একসময়ের প্রধান শিল্প পাট হারিয়ে যেতে বসেছে। এক এর পর এক পাটকল বন্ধ হচ্ছে দেশে। যার ফলে এই শিল্পের সাথে জড়িত কয়েক হাজার মানুষ আজ বেকারত্ব বয়ে বেড়াচ্ছেন। জীবিকার এই যুদ্ধে মরিয়া শ্রমিকেরা দীর্ঘদিন ধরে সরকারি ব্যবস্থাপনায় পাাটকল চালুর জন্য আন্দোলন করে আসছেন। আন্তর্জাতিক শ্রমিক দিবসে সেই সব মানুষের নির্বাক আর্তনাদকে তুলে ধরা হয়েছে এই প্রদর্শনীয় চলচ্চিত্রে। শুধু মাত্র উল্লাস’এর ইউটিউব চ্যানেলে চলছে ‘শোনো’।

রূপকথার গল্পের মতো আমাদের বুড়িগঙ্গার গল্প ছিল। কিন্তু কালের করাল থাবায় হারিয়ে যাচ্ছে বুড়িগঙ্গা। ক্রমাগত দখল ও বর্জ ফেলে হত্যা করা হয়েছে বুড়িগঙ্গার জৌলুস। ঢাকার প্রাণ বুড়িগঙ্গার কান্না যেন শোনার কেউ নেই। বুড়িগঙ্গার কান্না যেন মায়ের কান্নার মত বাজে শিল্পীর কানে। সন্তানের কাছে মায়ের কান্নার চেয়ে ভারী আর কিছু নেই।

বুড়িগঙ্গার সেই কান্নাকেই গানের মধ্যে ফুটিয়ে তুলেছেন সময়ের জীবনমুখী গানের জনপ্রিয় শিল্পী কাব্যিক পলাশ।
