Prepping for a drum take using the panels, these help to give a tighter sound and reduces the reflections in the room. In this 8 mic setup there are close mics to the snare drum, hi-tom, mid-tom, floor tom, hi-hats and kick drum(inside the shell). The 2 overhead mics(Left and Right) capture the overall sound.

A simple singer/song writer song this one, based on the boxed chord progression that is the foundation to many of history's most popular songs. Been working on the first 2 verses of 'কবে বুঝবে?', a tribute/cover track for জ্যান্ত পুতুল - Jyanto Putul's 'কবে ফিরবে?'. Huge fan of their work, definitely give their tracks a listen.

Jazz Bass Practice Diary # 6

Here I play-along to the chord progression of a Bossa Nova Jazz Standard. If you got a 5 string bass too early like I did and want to familiarise yourself with notes on the 'B' string then this is a great exercise. I ventured into the Jazz-funk genre here, the Bossa Nova beat was too tempting. Full video link in the comments section. There's a lot of low-low notes here which mobile phone speakers can't interpret accurately, so a good pair of headphones are recommended.

Built some movable acoustic panels(8ftx2ft), bass clouds(7ftx6ft) and hanging panels(4ftx2ft) for treatment of the live room. The movable panels will lock in with the adjustable bass cloud to provide a detachable recording booth for all purposes without any echoes.
