One person died from COVID-19 in the 24 hours till 8:00am today, according to the Directorate General of Health Services.

The death was reported by the Chattogram division. It was the third Covid death reported this year, after one death each on January 11 and January 14.

The deceased was a male aged between 61 and 70 years.

Microsoft edges out Apple as world's most valuable company!

Microsoft's stock market value ended a trading session higher than Apple's for the first time since 2021 on Friday, making it the world's most valuable company as worries about demand hit the iPhone maker's shares.

Apple crept up 0.2 percent on Friday, while Microsoft added 1 percent. With that, Microsoft's market capitalization stood at $2.887 trillion, its highest ever, according to LSEG data. Apple's market capitalization was $2.875 trillion, calculated with data in a filing on Thursday.

To reach the Erendabari Union in Phulchari upazila from Dhaka, one must first travel north to Gaibandha, located more than 250 kilometers away. They then have to continue for another 10 kilometers to reach Balashi Ghat. Here, their journey continues by motorboat. After completing a one-and-a-half-hour journey, they will finally arrive at Erendabari.

'UIU PLACES 1ST AMONG ASIAN TEAMS IN UNIVERSITY
ROVER CHALLENGE 2023' 🚀

TELOS, a Mars rover prototype and ICARUS, the companion aerial subsystem, developed by the UIU Mars rover team, have recently secured first place in Asia in the University Rover Challenge 2023.

This is the second consecutive year UIU has become 1st among Asian teams in Universal Rover Challenge (URC), with their rover named MAVEN also ranking 1st in Asia in last year's URC. This year, the UIU team has also reached 9th overall out of 37 global finalists. Last year, they were 13th out of 36 global finalists.

Leading industrial entity Jamuna Group is going to invest Tk 1,000 crore in the beleaguered e-commerce platform Evaly.

Initially, Jamuna will invest Tk 200 crore and the rest in phases, Evaly said in a statement yesterday.

"We, as a local venture, are really pleased to have another local company by our side," said Mohammad Rassel, founder and CEO of Evaly.

Through this investment, Jamuna has become part of the ongoing investments coming into Evaly. The business group has the opportunity to invest in the next phase as well, he said.
