বরিশাল সদর-৫ আসন প্রার্থী জাহিদ ফারুক শামীমের মনোনয়ন বাতিল চেয়ে ইসিতে আপিল করা হয়েছে।
শনিবার (৯ ডিসেম্বর) নির্বাচন কমিশনে (ইসি) সেরনিয়াবাত সাদিক আবদুল্লাহর আইনজীবী ব্যারিস্টার ইসতাবুল কামাল অয়ন আপিল আবেদনটি করেন।

বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করে ব্যারিস্টার ইসতাবুল কামাল অয়নের বরাত দিয়ে মহানগর আওয়ামী লীগের সহ সভাপতি গাজী নঈমুল হোসেন লিটু বলেন, জাহিদ ফারুক শামীমের সন্তানের নামে আমেরিকায় একাধিক ফ্ল্যাট, স্ত্রীর নামে বাড়ি থাকা সত্ত্বেও তথ্য গোপন করা হয়েছে। সেইসঙ্গে এনআরবিসি ব্যাংকের মাধ্যমে বিদেশে টাকা পাচার ও প্রতারণা মামলার তথ্য গোপন করেছেন শামীম। এসব অভিযোগের প্রমাণসহ নির্বাচন কমিশনে আপিল আবেদন করা হয়েছে জানিয়ে নির্বাচন কমিশন সবকিছু খতিয়ে দেখবে বলে দাবি করেছেন।।
