NEWLY OPENED (2012), RENOVATED AND EXPANDED TO ONE MORE FLOOR (2013)
Dalmatinska street, where newly opened Balkan Han hostel is placed, is in the heart of the city, less than 200 meters (few minutes walk) from pedestrian zone of downtown and Ferhadija street. This is the place from where you can easily reach all attractions in the city center by foot or some more distant sites, by tram or taxi wi
ch is not expensive in Sarajevo. Some famous night bars and music clubs are in the few minutes walking distance from Balkan Han hostel. So, as hostel Balkan Han is in the center of the city, you can easily find us from Titova street (main city street). The Eternal flame monument and Central bank are just next to our street. Many restaurants, bars and stores in nearby. "BBI" shopping mall and multiplex cinema is 5min walking from us. From this point, our guests can take a walk (10min) to Old town and the river Miljacka. A big city park is also nearby. Although our hostel is located next to the main street (Titova) in the city, our Dalmatinska street and green garden we have are just like oasis of peace in the heart of the city! Here, travelers can meet multicultural BALKAN in new-age edition, taste national food and drinks, experience brand new BalkanGipsyBass&Brass music and feel the great Bosnian hospitality, considering word "HAN" wich dates from the Ottoman era and means "lodging for travelers and their caravans". So, grab a place in our HAN and enjoy BALKAN! You can come to Sarajevo by buses and trains from all over the Balkan's region and flights from many European destinations. If you are coming to our Balkan Han Hostel from the city bus station or railway, you can take a tram number 1 (in the direction to Town Hall (Vijecnica)) and get off in front of the National Theatre, ask the driver to tell you where is National Theatre (Narodno pozoriste) to take off there. Than cross the road and go into the Kulovica street, walk along 100 meters, pass two more traffic lights, continue straight way and you'll enter the Dalmatinska street,
walk uphill 50 meters more and on your right hand you'll come to the doors of Balkan Han hostel! :)
Or we can send you a taxi for the normal price to wait for you if you inform us in advance and call us when you arrive to Sarajevo. We can come to pick up you if you are in the neighborhood and having problems to find us, just give us a call. Our hostel has:
- 6 bed rooms (five dorms, one private, FULL CAPACITY 50 persons) with twin & single beds and drawings or cupboards for passenger's things
- great and cheerful common room ("BUJROOM ROOM") opened 24h where our guests can get drink, snack, listen a good music and have fun with friends
- internet place (two Macintosh computers available), free Wi-Fi available in the entire area, cable TV
- 4 toilets (6 showers, 6 WCs, 7 washstands)
- beautiful wide green garden that we are specially proud of; in the natural shade of the trees, arranged with chairs, hammocks and benches, it's perfect place for relaxing or having a coffee, tea, domestic brandy or wine or even s BBQ!
- video projector for movies watching in "Bujroom Room" Bar per even Open Air Cinema; when weather and neighbors allow :)
- nice, friendly and polite stuff will give you their best for you to feel comfortable, to help you find all the interesting sites and have a great fun in Sarajevo
- 24h open supermarket and 24h open grill and pizza snack bar is just behind the building
Reception and the bar is open 24h. Garden is available 8am-10pm for our guests but useful only when whether is nice. Check in till midnight (or even later if agreed in advance), Check out till 10am. Unfortunately, our hostel is not suitable for wheelchair at the moment, but we'll try to work it out! Price is from 10 to 15eur per night (tax included),
depending on how many nights you are staying and
wich kind of bed and room you are interested in.
