Introducing our KinderGym Team - Part 2 - Coach Tyler ✨

1. How long have you been coaching & what inspired you to become a coach?
“I am an ex gymnast who just loves the sport and was lucky enough to start coaching at Yeppoon Gymnastics about a year ago.”

2. What do you love most about coaching in our under 5s space?
“I love watching all the kids grow. Being able to see changes in their skill and their personality as they come each week to KinderGym is really special.”

3. What is one thing our families might not know about you?
“ I have 4 children of my own!”

4. What do you think makes our KinderGym program at Yeppoon Gymnastics so worthwhile for all kids under 5 years?
“Our KinderGym program creates a fun and safe space for children to try new things and make new friends. They are not only learning the basic gymnastics skills but also basic life and social skills.”

Introducing our KinderGym Team - Part 1 - Coach Ruby ✨

1. How long have you been coaching & what inspired you to become a coach?
“I’ve been coaching for around four years now. I actually tried a few other jobs before coaching, but none of them felt quite right. I’ve always been a part of the gymnastics community, so I decided to give coaching a go and I absolutely fell in love with it. It is now a job I genuinely enjoy and feel passionate about.”

2. What do you love most about coaching in our under 5s space?
“I love the little giggles, the laughs, and the pure excitement on the kids faces during class. One of the best parts is seeing them outside of the gym - when they recognise me in town, come over for a hug or a wave, and proudly tell their parents that I am “coach Ruby”. Those moments are really special.”

3. What is one thing our families might not know about you?
“ I’ve been involved in gymnastics since I was 18 months old and still train and occasionally compete today. Outside of the gym, I love working out, staying active and spending time outdoors.”

4. What do you think makes our KinderGym program at Yeppoon Gymnastics so worthwhile for all kids under 5 years?
“Our KinderGym program helps children build strong foundations from a young age. They develop body awareness, strength, flexibility, coordination, confidence and speed - all while learning through play in a fun, safe and supportive environment. These skills support not only gymnastics, but all movement and learning as they grow.”

Farewell & Thank You, Coach Kyle 🥇

This week we said goodbye to one of our long-time athletes and coaches, Coach Kyle, as he wrapped up his final days at Yeppoon Gymnastics.

Kyle has been part of this gymnastics family since he was just 5 years old, training throughout his childhood and working his way up to Level 8 in our MAG Competitive program. Four years ago, at only 14, he stepped into the coaching world and has been a consistent part of our boys program ever since, spending countless hours in the gym supporting our athletes, attending competitions with them and even judging for the girls.

We are so proud of everything Kyle has achieved and even more excited for what’s ahead as he begins a traineeship in podiatry! 👞
Congratulations Kyle - what an exciting next step.

Thank you for your dedication, your energy and the impact you have had on your athletes and our club as a whole. You will be very missed but we will hopefully still see you around town, or popping in to say hey, or even joining in an Adult Gym session or two!
