Farewell & Thank You, Coach Kyle 🥇

This week we said goodbye to one of our long-time athletes and coaches, Coach Kyle, as he wrapped up his final days at Yeppoon Gymnastics.

Kyle has been part of this gymnastics family since he was just 5 years old, training throughout his childhood and working his way up to Level 8 in our MAG Competitive program. Four years ago, at only 14, he stepped into the coaching world and has been a consistent part of our boys program ever since, spending countless hours in the gym supporting our athletes, attending competitions with them and even judging for the girls.

We are so proud of everything Kyle has achieved and even more excited for what’s ahead as he begins a traineeship in podiatry! 👞

Thank you for your dedication, your energy and the impact you have had on your athletes and our club as a whole. You will be very missed but we will hopefully still see you around town, or popping in to say hey, or even joining in an Adult Gym session or two!

✨ Congratulations Jaydalily ✨

We are incredibly proud to share that one of our level 3 gymnasts, Jaydalily, has been selected to represent Team Australia - All Abilities Cheerleading Team at the 2026 International World Champions in Florida!

This is an extraordinary achievement, with over 500 athletes applying and only 28 chosen. The Australian All Abilities Cheerleading Team showcase inclusivity and the belief that with enough determination every athlete can shine on the world stage.

While cheerleading is not a program we coach here at Yeppoon Gymnastics, the strength, discipline and confidence Jaydalily has developed training countless hours both with us and her cheer club DDS have helped her build the skills that contributed to this amazing opportunity. We could not be more proud to see her talent and hard work recognised at such a high level.

The World Championships are the biggest event of their kind, bringing thousands of athletes from more than 20 countries. Truly the Olympics of the Cheerleading world! 📣

Huge shoutout to Daisy who attended the first of 3 WAG QLD Team Future camps this past weekend in Brisbane ✨

Daisy was selected to join gymnasts from clubs across the state. Each chosen for their strong commitment, dedication and potential to progress along the high performance pathway.

This Clinic was part of a three-camp series designed to support emerging athletes and aiming to give them the tools, knowledge and inspiration to take those next-level steps.

Daisy was able to:
- receive targeted HP-alignedy training and educational sessions.
- attend workshops working through the STARS program and national performance standards.
- receive skill support from QLD and National coaches, including Josh Fabian (Gymnastics Australias Performance Pathways Lead).
- build friendships and share the experience with gymnasts from all over Queensland

✨ End of year burn out is real - and totally normal! ✨

As we head into the final weeks of term 4, many gymnasts (and families) start feeling tired, flat, or a little overwhelmed. The end of the year is busy, full of school events, activities and big emotions. So if you are feeling exhausted, you are not alone. 💚

Just remember:
Feeling burnt out doesn’t mean you’re not doing well. It means you’ve been working hard.

We encourage our gymnasts to keep showing up, doing their best, and pushing through these last sessions of the year. Often, it’s these final weeks where consistency matters most and progress shines through 🌟

Take care of yourselves, stay hydrated, get plenty of rest and nutrition, and lean on your coaches if you need support.

You’ve got this ! 🙌
