CHRISTMAS IS IN THE AIR
Grafton Midday Rotary are hosting Christmas on the Clarence at Memorial Park in Grafton this evening.
The crowd is beginning to build as the Grafton Salvation Army entertain attendees with a variety of Christmas carols and traditional tunes.
There will be upcoming performances by the Clarence River Dance Academy and the Clarence Valley Conservatorium.
Santa Claus and Mrs Claus are expected to arrive later in the evening, and many children amongst the crowd are excited to share what they want for Christmas this year!
There was plenty of Scottish spirit in the air across Market Square in Grafton this afternoon as Splash Of Tartan delighted visitors during the 2024 Grafton Jacaranda Festival.

RETROFEST ROCKS INTO LIFE
Come on down to Market Square in Grafton between 10am and 4pm today and celebrate the 1950s and 1960s during Retrofest 2024.
Proudly sponsored by Livable, the event is a popular draw card during the Grafton Jacaranda Festival each year.
There are a number of vintage vehicles on display, and for a $10 donation, the lovely ladies from DiMattia and Co will transform your locks into a stunning pin-up style!
The Big River Rockers are also entertaining the crowd and giving dance lessons this morning.
The glamorous Pin-Up Competition will commence at 11:30am.

The 90th Anniversary of the Grafton Jacaranda Festival has begun with River Dreaming: A Day of Culture, in Market Square, Grafton.
A proud celebration of the local Gumbaynggirr, Bundjalung, and Yaegl communities who call the Clarence Valley their home, a large crowd has gathered in attendance for the event.

ILLUMINATE JACARANDA
Gold Coast band Magic Carpet Ride are entertaining a large crowd which is continuing to build in See Park, Grafton, on the opening night of Illuminate Jacaranda.
Dancers from Ashley Albert Performing Arts will also perform this evening.
As soon as it gets dark, the flowering jacaranda trees will be illuminated, creating a dazzling display.
Illuminate Jacaranda will run from October 18 until November 10.

A CELEBRATION SHIRLEY WORTH SHARING
The name of the road which crosses the Balun Bindarray Bridge in Grafton has officially been changed from Shirley Way to Shirley Adams Way, in recognition of local community champion, and the first lady Mayor of Grafton, Shirley Adams.
The new sign was proudly unveiled by her daughter Virginia Lambert, and son Simon Adams, during a ceremony on Tuesday, July 30.
Member for Clarence Richie Williamson and the Minister for Regional Transport and Roads Jenny Aitchison joined the family of Mrs Adams for the special event in Grafton this week.
