Overlander.tv Video Producer Mark Shea https://www.barefootmystic.com.au Suddenly anyone could produce broadcast quality programming!

In the mid 1990's the advent of cheap mini dv video cameras and non linear editing on computers was a game changer in the world of television! Then, in the early 2000's, video went online, offering video producers the opportunity to screen their work globally. I started experimenting with documentary, corporate video and the condensed online format. I lived through the unique stage in history, whe

re bedroom vloggers held the same stage as multinational corporations and television networks! As a travel video producer and documentary filmmaker, I found a foothold in the evolving online arena, developing an international following and a style that suited the new arena. This experience has given me an innate understanding of how online video differs from television. My youtube channel became the most subscribed and viewed travel channel, beating the likes of Tourism Australia's $500 Million funded strategy! My success with online video allowed me to travel the globe for near two years producing travel content, in Asia and Central America. I am now back in Melbourne Australia available for:

*Business profile video production, specialising in the tourism industry.

*Training in how to produce online business profile videos for business wishing to do their production in house.

*Reviews of tourism products, places and business (accommodation, restaurants and tours) for overlander.tv, Australia's biggest travel channel on youtube.

I'm currently going over the first draft of a novel I am writing about my experience of walking the Camino with no money. I have previously read a fantastic book called 'The Bestseller Code: Anatomy of the Blockbuster Novel'. The authors believe they have cracked the code to what predicts a best selling novel. They have set up a AI tool that allows authors to submit their manuscripts in order to compare it to best sellers. I have found it a very handy tool to assess my writing and compare it to successful best sellers. A handy link for anyone who also wishes to turn a travel experience into a book.

Marlowe is an artificial intelligence that helps authors improve their novels and long-form fiction by comparing their work to her database of manuscripts

Five years ago I walked the Camino. I was offered a book deal based on an agent seeing my writing in a photo book I put together.

I walked the Camino Del Norte and Primitivo over 42 days, 28 days of which I walked without money.
I lost my wallet and decided to walk the rest of my Camino with no money.
I made some rules to test my idea that I could live without money –
*Dont accept money
*Dont ask pilgrims for anything
*Only accept help from someone for a limited time (eg 2 days)

The book is still a 50,000+ word document I haven't been able to finish because the ending disappointed me. To live without money I had to live one day at a time. I had to simplify things, break my day into trying to achieve simple tasks – walk, eat, find somewhere to sleep.
I felt that by doing this I saw deeply into my own and other’s hearts. Money is such an important consideration for most people. The last 100 kms were the toughest. I saw the true filthy heart of the money circus the 'Las Vegas' stage has become. For most of the walk with no money, I realised people are generally good, complete strangers helped me. But at the end, when things got tough, I went into survival mode, and disappointed myself, resorting to 'oldest child' behaviours - raising my voice and verbally abusing people. There was no happy ending.

I don't like sharing unfinished work with others, harsh appraisals or a lack of interest can kill a project before it is finished. But recently I shared the ending with a select group. A male reader loved the detail, saying he felt he was there walking with me. A female reader enjoyed the deep lessons learnt and made a telling comment about my fear of releasing the story because of no happy ending. "Your story ends like life, she said, there are no happy endings, we all die!"
We give the Camino journey such reverence, and she might be right, It isn't the end that matters, it's the lessons of the journey. The picture is of a graveyard where I slept one night.

I'm looking at getting a new action camera. If one was to get a dji action 4 and a rode wireless go combination, you would have everything you need to set up a travel vlog channel. Unobtrusive with great quality image and audio. I will get one at the end of the month when the price drops with the release of the comparative sensor sized action 5
