19.10.24 - A Night to Remember

Catherine and Simon tied to knot with 160+ friends and family in attendance at the beautiful Headlands Hotel Austinmer Beach.

This wedding has been a long time coming and at one point was my furthest bookings in advance. Safe to say it delivered with guests hitting the dance floor for a top 30 countdown put together by our bride and groom.

Working with some of the best in the business always makes life easy.

One of the best in the business giving some great advice on why it’s important to go with an MC that will create memories

A shout out to James Dinardo... a good (great MC & DJ) at your wedding can make a massive difference... a good MC will be articulate, fun and keep the night rolling with all the various formalities and introductions and a bit of humour loang the way...

One of the worst mistakes you can make is getting an unexperienced family member to be your MC.... its a professional job that requires an expert to do it properly......

A mobile phone went off during the speeches and James had to investigate what the alarm was for ....."was it an alarm for 'magic' time..." hahaha It was a really fun night and James did an amazing job as usual.

After working in this industry for the last 15 years I think it’s helpful to share tips and tricks with people planning their next big event.

Todays Advice Topic : Wedding MC 🎤

Over the years I have been lucky enough to attend hundreds of weddings up and down the coast and interstate. As we all
Know these events do not come cheap, 10s and even 100s of thousands of dollars is spent to create magical moments and lasting memories for the brides, grooms and guests alike.

There has always been one thing that has bothered me and it is when some much time and money is invested into something and in my opinion one of the most important roles is over looked.

Wedding Master of Ceremonies! So many times couples have used this as a throw away role when in actual fact this role will complete transform the atmosphere of the event into something truely memorable. I have seen it all over the years from drunk uncles stumbling through formalities to friends who are completely out of there comfort zone with public speaking to the more disastrous situations like the MC going rouge and starting speeches while photographers and videographers are out eating dinner.

The feed back from couples is always they felt so relaxed knowing the evening was under control but also the venues have there kinds kept at ease knowing the night will follow run sheets to time. There are so many moving parts to ensuring a wedding goes off without a hitch, chefs preparing meals for 100s of guests is not something that can be delayed by long periods off time, vendors are often booked to be finished by a certain time and inexperienced MCs can often misjudge time, I recently had a photographer leave before the bridal waltz (poor form to that photographer) because they were so far behind and the bride and groom couldn’t afford to pay the extra fee to keep them.

If you take one thing away from this advice , do your research if you are using family and friends to MC ensure they are confident public speakers who can create that fun and vibrant atmosphere at your event.

Don’t worry I’m sure uncle Ken will forget that he didn’t get the chance to MC if the professional in charge gives them memories to last a lifetime ;)

I really can’t begin to put into words how massive 2022 has been for us. Coming into this year I knew we would be busy for the Covid back log but I never truely could have imagined achieving what we did.

Providing entertainment to 1000s of happy guest and travelling over 15,000km through out the year to do it is nothing shy of insane. From the beautiful back drops of the hunter valleys Moravia Park to the foot hills of Morton’s The Barn on Bridge , the ever so stylish The Woods Farm, the classic vibe of The Woolshed, our spiritual home Diamonds Reception Centre , City Beach Function Centre, Ruby's Mount Kembla, Jaspers, Berry, Gather. By the Hill the countless surf clubs up and down the cost, the party hotspots like Ocean Beach Hotel and Husky Pub.

Working with countless amazing vendors who dedicate there weekend to this industry like The Visual Project Videography , Let's Say I Do • Alisha Perkins • Marriage Celebrant Planned By Page Party Central , Cole Studios, Djzanin - Zanin Entertainment ,The Frisky Filly Mobile Bar ,2 Smoking Barrels , Chloe Marie Artistry - Small Wedding and Elopement Photographer, Rebel Flower Photography.

Most importantly being out of the house so much means the biggest thanks goes to my wife for always ensuring our kids are priority 1.

What a year it’s been for weddings , the Covid backlog well and truely took hold this year with dozens of couples saying I DO. We have travelled all over the state from Mudgee to The Hunter and as far south as Merimbula, it’s truely been our biggest year ever!!!!

Anddddd were are no where near finished , we still have 22 functions to take care of. It’s non stop but so rewarding every time we are asked to be apart of someone’s big day!

Another couple have graduated the school of hard rocks!!! Congrats to the lovely Mr and Mrs Coltman!!!!

On Saturday despite some not so favourable weather we set off to Morton to celebrate with Matt & Nat at the stunning The Barn on Bridge. This venue is nestled in the stunning mountain ranges of the south coast.

Along with some cracking vendors like The Visual Project Videography, 2 Smoking Barrels , and The Frisky Filly Mobile Bar we partied long into the night.

From start to finish Nat and Matt were a dream to deal with. I wish them all the best with the next chapter of their lives ❤️❤️❤️

In the last 7 days I’ve had the pleasure of providing my services for both my sister in law and my brother as they both tied the knot.

Friday 30th seen us head back to our residency of in house DJ for Warilla Bowls and Recreation Club’s - Diamonds Reception Centre. The Bride and groom enjoyed all we had to offer with DJ MC and Special Effects services. We were also joined by our friends over at Party Central who provided their incredible magic mirror photo booth.

I know many of the videos we post feature this song but it is that one tune that represents our brand and the celebrations we love being a part of!!
