This photo was taken in July 2021 by during a prototype testing session of a moon tail design, very similar to what became the Moon Rider final shape. The waves were cranking and I was driven to create a game changing moulded handplane. The Moon Rider was 3 YEARS in the making - a pandemic, financial hurdles, multiple shape revisions, more prototypes, weight reductions, strap bar revisions, budgets, hand strap redesign sampling, injection mould design, tooling issues, shipping delays, human errors, more manufacturing issues, social media management, preorder campaign updates and pre Christmas express post delivery down to the wire. So much thought, work and passion goes into a totally new product. I built the Moon Rider from a mission to create the best beautiful, affordable, durable, lightweight and performance handplane possible with a space theme because I believe bodysurfing is sort of cosmic- an amazing otherworldly experience. I am so stoked with the final product (swipe >). The 24x 5-star reviews that have come already in just the first few days of 2024 + some very special positive customer emails all detailing how impressed they are with how the Moon Riders goes means everything to me. Knowing that the Ectos are out in world bringing people stoke and happiness in their life is so fulfilling and makes all the difficult stuff listed above wash away. Thanks again to everyone who helped make this happen by supporting the preorders.
