I've spent the last 6+ months planning and writing books in my new detective series, the George 'Magpie' Collins mysteries. Thus far, I have 36 titles (so far) planned and outlined. I've written the first few in the series (some are only in first draft stage), and the first, THE BROKEN CHAIN, has recently been released. The second, THE BLACK SEAM, will be released shortly. The series takes place during the years 1935-1946 in Australia. Anyway, here is the list of titles as it currently stands:

Due to today's actions from Australia Post restricting package deliveries to the US (due to Donald Trump's insane tariff regime), I will no longer be supplying autographed books, comics etc. from my own online store (Glowing Eyes Media Direct Store - www.glowingeyes.store ) outside of Australia. While the rest of the world is not affected by the above mentioned tariffs, this action has been on my mind for quite some time. With the increase in costs in shipping internationally, it simply is no longer financially viable for me to do so. To make it worth my while, money wise, I would have to raise either my product costs or my shipping costs to a level that most, if not all, customers would be unwilling to pay. So, I have had to make this decision, effective immediately.

The store is still open to all Australian customers, and I am still providing FREE SHIPPING for all such domestic orders. While I will sadly no longer be shipping autographed items to international customers from now on, all my novels can still be obtained from the usual online sources, such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Bookshop . org and the like as per normal. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Meet George 'Magpie' Collins, the star of my new detective series of books, starting with THE BROKEN CHAIN, out shortly.

George 'Magpie' Collins is a former jewel thief (he liked sparkly things, hence the Magpie nickname), now a private detective, operating in mid-1930s Sydney, Australia (sometimes throughout New South Wales). He's 35 years old, single, never married but was once engaged. His best friend is the chief of police, Tom Majors, who some years back helped him go straight and acquire his investigator licence.

Collins likes coffee (the blacker the better), steak (which he has with a beer at all times), and has an unwavering sense of fair play. He hates bullies, always supports the little guy. Supports the Australian Labor Party and the union movement. His office is on the second floor of a building in Castlereagh Street, next door to the NSW Masonic Club, where he sometimes goes for breakfast or lunch/dinner (he did the club secretary a good turn once, and was granted unlimited use of the club's facilities as a reward). He lives in a small flat in Glebe and drives a Ford.

Collins appears in the first novel in the series, THE BROKEN CHAIN (which will be available any day now) and in further planned books in the series (the next one will be THE BLACK SEAM, released at the end of the year). Keep an eye out here for further purchasing info shortly.

I yesterday finished writing BIRDS OF THE LIVING DEAD, Bk. 11 in The Wraith Dread Avenger of the Underworld series. I'm now going through it, looking for any typos, word changes and any additions before sending it off for pro editing. I have to say, without wishing to toot my own horn too much, but I think this could very well be my best work. There are portions of the book, as I go through it, that could well be the best writing I've done. Just little bits and pieces that stand out to me, but it's often those little things that stand out to others as well and really make a book come alive for readers. I hope so anyway.

I'm planning to release BIRDS OF THE LIVING DEAD in October/November this year, so keep an eye out for it and for further updates as we near that time. Of course, we have Bk. 9 KINGDOM and Bk. 10 CITY OF FEAR due to be released before then, in July/August. If you're a Wraith fan, there's a lot to look forward to. Thank you.

SWAMP WITCH OF SATAN'S FOREST, Book 6 in The Wraith Dread Avenger of the Underworld series, was released in January, Book 8, LADY WRAITH is about to release in the next couple weeks, Book 9, KINGDOM is scheduled for release in July and Book 10, CITY OF FEAR will follow shortly thereafter. Four books released in the same year. If I'm lucky, and everything comes together well, I may also be able to release Book 11, BIRDS OF THE LIVING DEAD before the year is out. We'll see if I can pull that one off.

Also in the planning stages (likely to be released next year, I'd say) is Book 3 in the Books of Judgment sub-series of The Wraith books, RISING SON. This is a series of prequels detailing the origins of a variety of important characters in the series. Book 1, SANDERSON OF METRO, detailed the origin of the original Wraith/Paul Sanderson, Book 2, SERPENT RISING featured the origin of his nemesis, the Cobra and Book 3, RISING SON will feature the origin of another enemy, crime lord Robert Latham. Look for Book 3 sometime in 2026, hopefully during the first quarter or so.

Writing work continues apace on the latest Wraith novel, CITY OF FEAR, with chapter 5 commencing and almost 10,000 words in. Coming along well for far, very pleased with my progress.

In other Wraith novel news, the pro editing of LADY WRAITH is now almost complete, upon which I will then go through it one last time, make the requisite corrections, additions etc., then on to formatting it before publication and release. I look forward to presenting this to you all. It's a tougher, harsher, more adult book in the series, dealing with real life issues. I think it turned out well, and I hope you all feel likewise. I'll update again once it's released and ready to purchase. Thank you.
