The State Member for Ripon, Martha Haylett, has provided an update on the Western Renewables Link, noting that Mount Prospect and Waubra were not appropriate options for the terminal station site. 🚜

WESTERN RENEWABLES LINK UPDATE

Today it is confirmed that Bulgana is AEMO’s preferred site for a terminal station.

This is a positive change and a good outcome for our community.

Mount Prospect and Waubra were very obviously not appropriate options for the terminal station site.

Common sense has prevailed.

I’ve been briefed that the local council, industry and directly impacted residents in Bulgana have been consulted.

As further details are developed they will be done so in consultation with the community.

I intend on ensuring this is the case.

This announcement is a step in the right direction. A new era of actually listening to the community and attempting to build a social licence for this project.

However, there is still much more that needs to be fixed.

I remain hopeful that the there can be more meaningful consultation with genuine options put to the community.

I have made my views on this project crystal clear to all in charge.

I will always fight for my community.

Congrats to Waubra Primary School student, Izzy Grail, who is set to compete in the discus at the State Primary School Athletics Championships! 🥏 🏅

News Flash:

Izzy Grail is off to the State Primary School Athletics Championships for Discus.

Well done to Izzy who today won the 12/13yr discus at the Greater Western Athletics Championships.

Izzy will now represent Waubra PS at the State Championships in November.

Well done Izzy, we are all incredibly proud of you.

Congratulations to Khloe Fettes, who has been named a finalist in Interrelate’s poster competition. Khloe’s beautiful poster addressed the theme “Respectful Relationships Start With You”. Khloe did an amazing job and we’ll all have our fingers crossed when the winners are announced next Friday.

Waubra Primary School will hold its Celebrating Harmony colour run tomorrow! 🌈

We hope you’re as excited as we are. It’s our Celebrating Harmony colour run tomorrow!
A couple of quick reminders:
- children will need a white t-shirt,
- if your child catches the bus, they will need a spare change of clothes,
- fundraising forms are due back tomorrow,
- there will be some accessories available for purchase
