PUBLIC SAFETY RISK
Warragul Exhibition Hall has been closed after being declared a public safety risk.
Temporary fencing has been installed at the front of the Howitt St building and all bookings cancelled until further notice.
Baw Baw Shire Council said the closure followed advice that parts of the building were compromised and posed a hazard.
Council is awaiting an engineer’s report which will determine the next course of action.

GOSS ELECTED MAYOR. Cr Danny Goss will serve as Baw Baw Shire Council mayor, with Cr Tricia Jones as deputy mayor, for the next 12 months. Crs Goss and Jones – the only two returning councillors - were elected unopposed to the positions at this afternoon’s statutory council meeting. Residents have reported a mini tornado wind storm ripped through Dawson Drv and Howard St, Warragul this afternoon.
The wind has stripped roof tiles from houses, blown over trees and sent trampolines flying.
