Come and Join us, Toowoomba Regional Council Gardeners and Rose Society Members, at the Rose Garden in Newtown Park to learn the skill of pruning roses.

Lessons are free. Bring along a hat, gloves, secateurs and an empty bucket. Free morning tea will be served in the Rose Cottage for participants.

📣 Round 1 of the Community Support Grants are now open! 📣

📅 From 1 July to 1 August, Council is accepting applications for its Community Support Grant.

This grant is open to not-for-profit community groups and organisations who operate or provide services within the Toowoomba Regional Council area.

It provides funding for programs and facility upgrades that benefit the community.

Grants of up to $2500 are available. However, funding applications of smaller amounts are accepted and encouraged!

To ensure our rural and regional communities have convenient access to essential government services, Federal Member for Groom, Garth Hamilton is pleased to announce the upcoming visit of the Services Australia Mobile Service Centre to Pittsworth and Oakey.

“Residents in our community often face difficulty in being able to access government services such as Veterans Affairs, Centrelink and Medicare.

“The tyranny of distance reduces access to the services they need and the mobile service centre makes it easier for people to access government services, right here in the community,” Mr Hamilton said.

Staff from Services Australia travel with the Mobile Service Centres and can assist people with Centrelink and Medicare payments and services.

Information about Department of Veterans’ Affairs programs and support services for veterans and their families is also available.

The Mobile Service Centre will be visiting the following locations:

𝐏𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐬𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡: Friday, 31st May 2024 – 9am to 3pm near Centenary Park, Yandilla St, Pittsworth.

𝐎𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐲: Monday, 3rd June 2024 – 9am to 4pm near the community centre, Campbell St Oakey.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us today for the first passenger trip with our restored steam locomotive, C16-106 "The Pride of Toowoomba." Your enthusiasm and support made this historic journey truly special. We are very grateful to our wonderful Toowoomba community and dedicated volunteer team for bringing this dream to life.
