Planning has started for season 2025. We are on the lookout for a major sponsor to help get the FOWS podcast back in action for next year.
The aim of the revamped format would be....
- A midweek (possibly Wednesday night) show
- More focus on the VPL(W) and State League competitions, as opposed to the NPL
- A magazine style program with more interviews, features and special reports

ON tonight's episode of the Geelong Region Soccer Show podcast, we'll be speaking with the coach of the Geelong Region Girls' U13s team which took out 1st place at the FV Girls' Cup at Keilor Park last week, JOHN TOPIC.

The tournament winning team was made up of players from Surf Coast Football Club, North Geelong Warriors FC and Geelong Galaxy FC.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: SYDENHAM PARK SC
Sydenham Park the victim of idiotic vandals!

𝙎𝙋𝙎𝘾 𝘾𝙇𝙐𝘽 𝘼𝙉𝙉𝙊𝙐𝙉𝘾𝙀𝙈𝙀𝙉𝙏 📣

SPSC would like to express their gratitude and extend their apologies to all our members, supporters and teams who have been affected due to unforeseen circumstances involving vandalism at our club early on Sunday morning.
It has been determined that our facility is unsafe for any players to participate at our venue. The decision to cancel ALL training sessions including games was made in the best interest of all individuals present at our club.

It is truly disheartening that this incident occurred, as ultimately our priority is the children who love the game and due to the selfish actions of others, our children cannot continue at our facility.

A special thank you to Brimbank City Council & Football Victoria who have closely worked with our club sourcing other venues for our players.

Also, a special mention to Keilor Wolves S.C., Balmoral Football Club - Đerzelez & Calder United SC who have reached out to help accommodate our Sydenham Park footballers, young and old!

SPSC hopes to be back at The Lodge sooner rather than later and will give an update in the next coming weeks.

Discussion Topic tonight - has Football Victoria got the local comp's Grading System right?

LAST weekend, there was a major score blowout in the local Geelong Region Women's League grading games, which saw one team defeat the other 23-0.... a game contested between one club's A team and the other club's B team.

No need to guess which team was which...!

In an ironic twist, the B team that lost 23-0 may well qualify for the Women's Division 1 competition, while that particular club's A team appears likely to qualify for the Division 2 competition, because of its own performance in the grading phase.

Has Football Victoria got the grading system right this year, or are these anomalies a result of 'teething problems'.

We will discuss this with our special guest tonight, former Drysdale Soccer Club and Barwon Soccer Club player, ex-Barwon Senior Women's team coach and currently a local referee, who this year is watching the football from a different perspective - out in the middle.

We speak of course about SIMON BLANCH, who will give us his objective take on what is happening in the local leagues....
