Weather Situation

A high well to the west extends a ridge over Tasmania, while a trough slowly develops into a low pressure system over South Australia during the next few days. The high centre will begin to cross Tasmania during Tuesday, while the trough and low to the northwest move closer. The trough is expected to cross Tasmania later Wednesday.

A cold front will cross Tasmania later today, with a cooler southwesterly airstream establishing over the state on Saturday. A ridge to the west then quickly moves over Tasmania later Saturday and persists over the state until Monday. Warm and humid northeasterly winds develop on Wednesday as the ridge moves south, away from the state.

Fine apart from light showers in the west. West to northwesterly winds, with afternoon sea breezes.

Weather Situation

A ridge of high pressure extends across Victoria and Bass Strait during today, directing a westerly airstream over Tasmania. A cold front moves well to the west of Tasmania during Thursday, with the airstream tending warmer northwesterly as it slowly approaches. The cold front and associated trough then cross Tasmania later Friday, with a cooler southwesterly airstream establishing over the state on Saturday. A ridge to the west then quickly moves over Tasmania later Saturday and persists over the state on Sunday.
