Weather Situation

A high over the Bight is directing a cool southwesterly stream across Tasmania, with winds shifting westerly on Tuesday as the high approaches from the northwest and extends a weak ridge over the state. The high will move to the northeast of Tasmania on Wednesday, then over the northern Tasman Sea on Thursday. A warm northerly airstream will strengthen later Thursday, ahead of a cold front that will cross Tasmania early Friday.

Fire Danger - High fire danger about King Island and the Furneaux Islands.

Weather Situation

A high in the Bight directs a southwesterly stream over Tasmania during Monday. On Tuesday a ridge will extend over the state from the high, before it moves over the southern mainland on Wednesday. A warm northerly airstream moves over Tasmania on Thursday, as a low pressure system and associated cold front develops and approaches the the west of the state.

A cold front will approach the west of the state and cross later on Sunday, with a cooler southwesterly stream expected during Monday. A high pressure system to the east of the Bight extends a ridge over Tasmania during Tuesday.
