The National Library is perhaps one of my new favourite spots for bridal photoshoot. Its monochromatic and classic atmosphere deviate slightly from my usual preference for the vibrant and colourful, but it is certainly a refreshing change! And the best part, it's sheltered! So this will definitely be one of my go to spots when rain comes!

Hayley and Sam’s big day is a wedding straight out of Hollywood films! Their reception entrance is without a doubt, one of my proudest capture as a wedding filmmaker. It is as if it was taken straight out of a movie scene and I am truly grateful to capture such moment on film!

When I was taking these photos, I knew straight away that this day is going to be one of those days that pops into your head when reminiscing about the good old days with the family, many years in the future.

It was quite close to autumn’s twilight hours, so the sun was warm, and so was the crowd. Friends and families gathered and laughed about while the kids are running, giggling around. There’s a sense of serenity in the midst of it all, and it was as if I’m living the present in the past. I just knew that I’m right in the middle of a core memory in the making.

And that is why I chose to colour these photos with a slight sepia undertone, combined with a tint of yellow-orange, to mimic the colours of the golden hours to pronounce that nostalgic atmosphere. To me, there’s just something about the colours of the twilight hours that evokes that sense of nostalgia.

In the midst of its beauty, it is as if time stands still for a while to allow us a brief moment of reflection, and gratitude, for all the things that we have passed.

As a photographer, I dabble in many other areas besides weddings, but I really gotta say that weddings are always my favorite. First of all it’s a massive privilege to document and preserve such milestone, and secondly, I’ve always enjoyed playing around with the couple for poses, lighting, angles and composition. It’s the one area where I really get a chance to express myself creatively and not limited by the overarching marketing script or campaign.

Of course, it could be stressful at times too, and there are challenging days, but at the end of the day, I am truly grateful for the trust and opportunity. There’s still a lot to learn, and I’m still developing my own signature style, but the journey has been amazing and I have been privileged to capture the beautiful weddings in this beautiful country.

Pre-wedding is quick, fun session where I get to know you more as a couple, as in, what prompts and posing cues would work best for you, which angles would make you look best, what kind of couple you are, etc.

And on the other hand, you get to know me more personally as well! Having these short sessions done prior to the big day really helps me and my clients to “vibe”, making it soo much easier and more enjoyable on the wedding day to get that photos done!

Ashli and Jack’s big day is the perfect description of a perfect day! With the exception that Jack wasn’t feeling 100% on the day, everything else was just silky smooth and breathtakingly gorgeous on the day. It is truly a magnificent day, full to the brim with love, passion and energy!

A massive, massive thank you to the bride for trusting us, I had and always will consider it a great honour and privilege to be trusted with such task!

And I just looove beach weddings! So much so that we’re currently focusing our business towards the south coast areas such as Merimbula, Jervis Bay, Wollongong, etc.

ACT, of course, will still be our primary area, but I just wanna travel and film gorgeous scenes!

Steph and Bill's wedding is the textbook description of a perfect wedding - beautiful, beautiful weather graces us all the way until reception, the crowd is just so warm and welcoming, and their love for one another can only be expressed by what we see 2 seconds into the film- hence why I put it at the beginning - its a beautiful, burning, yet gentle love for one another. A searing passion shared between 2 souls, reflected by the sky above.

And don't get me started on the wonderful venue that is The Grazing at Gundaroo Grazing - absolutely beautiful food (out of all the venues that I've worked with, I can confidently say that the Grazing is always one of the best, and I know heaps of photographers also said the same!) - wonderful ceremony location that hosts such as serene, breezy, romantic-rustic atmosphere, and plus a generous area for reception, it's always a blessing to work here!!

It is a massive, massive privilege to film and Chris’s wedding last year. Their special day truly feels like a celebration of a lifetime; from the pure love that the couple radiates, the sincere joy and happiness from the guests, the awesome leading the wonderful ceremony, down to the absolute stunner of a view from the venue , every singular aspect of this wedding is pure bliss to behold. And yes, this is coming from the cameraman hidden in the far corner of the room!!

And perhaps their film is one of my favourite so far. Not only because I got the chance to film the celebration as it unfolds, but also because is absolute killer when it comes to locations I literally ended up with a massive collection of footage to choose from. It is a real pleasure to work with Candice and we would always sing praises of her work!

One of the best things about Australian weddings is just how organic, how genuine, how sincere it felt. Nothing too extravagant, or too fancy. It’s just.. natural. As natural as loving someone that you’re meant to be with forever.

And the landscape of this land is just breathtaking. It might not offer the lush exoticism and the diverse colours that the tropical countries display, but there is something truly mystical about its vastness and scale.. where you can see the open blue sky or horizon without obstacle. Where it feels like your eyes might sweep the land across..

It is an ancient land. Old and wise. And I am but a speck who’ve had the privilege of enjoying its beauty and wisdom.

Ashley and Luke’s big day is probably one of my favourite from last year. It represents all that I love about the Australian Wedding: it’s organic, genuine, sincere, and breathtakingly beautiful.

You might be wondering - is it worth getting a wedding film? Isn't photography enough?

While photography remains the priority, there are many things that still images alone won't be able to do justice. You might not be too keen on watching your film now, but 10 or 20 years from now, you might want to look back, perhaps alongside your kids!

Still obsessing over this one, everything was just so perfect. The weather, the crowd, my team, and most especially Stu and Jaz, everything is just GOLD.

Beach weddings can be especially hard to film, especially when the sun is searing hot, but we’ve got just the right guys. Luke and Neil, our videographers, were BEASTLY in this wedding.

And the weather is just 🤌 Sapphire blue water shimmering underneath the azure sky, rolling clouds, warm, silky sands - oh my Lord. And Stu and Jaz was ok to go anywhere!! To the sand, to the rocks, to the grasses - and I just couldn’t help myself - it was gorgeous everywhere.

Merrimbula is such an amazing place I had my own pre-wedding shots done there! We’ve done a couple more around the areas through the years but I just want to keep coming back there.

Some people might think that Canberra is boring and uptight, but sometimes I just could not believe how lucky I am to have the chance to live in this lovely city! Every year I got to be treated with spectacular views, that growing up I can only see in movies. It is also full of lovely people, whom I had the absolute pleasure to work and have fun with. I really think that excitement does not always mean the glorious city lights of the metropolis, sometimes it's just the joy of driving around Canberra, sightseeing the marvelous sceneries that this city has to offer. Sometimes it's just reading a long email that your client send to you about how grateful they are of the photos that you sent, and how much it means to them.

Of course, it's not always sunshine and rainbows. Sometimes people does not like your work, and that's fine. As long as I have done my very best, I know that my heart is satisfied and my soul is at peace.

Although sometimes you do messed up and ends up overthinking about it for many years to come. Sometimes I still cringe just thinking about it😂😂

Happy Mother's day to all the mums!! You're bloody legends, I hope you know that, and even if sometimes you don't feel like it, just know that you are and have always been. The sun does not shine as bright and the sky isn't as blue without you.

And to my mom, growing up as a boy, I never truly realised how much love and affection you poured to me, and I never truly appreciate that. But I don't think that I could ever fully appreciate that, it's beyond my comprehension after all. I'll make you proud someday.

Colours. Heaps and tons of it.

I think one of the best things about weddings is the gushing stream of pure joy and emotion that flows throughout the day. The excitement, anticipation, and tears, all perfused with the romance in the air, and I just can't get enough of it. Truly there's nothing like it!

And what's the best way to convey all those emotions than with a festive of colours? As a photographer, I am a firm believer that to conceal those colours is to conceal the emotions within, and the day I did that might as well be the day I quit weddings.

To me, your wedding imagery should be bright, bold, festive and vibrant. Simply a fitting representation of the atmosphere of your big day!
