Very cool announcement from Destination North Coast. Their new Digital Refresh Grant Program offers up to $5,000 to tourism businesses on the North Coast to either refresh an existing website or build a new one. That includes fresh content for your website, including video 😉

It's good to see the authorities holding the person whose selfish behaviour sparked the lockdown in our region responsible. But what can we do to address the real issue, which is what drove him to act this way? How do we make people trust that authorities have their best interest at heart? How do we make people put the common good before their own short term desires?

Those are the questions at the heart of solving so many problems facing our world today, including the biggest crisis of all - the one bearing down on our climate.

"What this IPCC report shows is that there is no more urgent issue facing our nation and world than dangerous climate change, and I pledge to you today as your Prime Minister that my Government will do everything in its power not just to meet our obligations but to lead the global fight against climate change. The great news is that a robust plan to decarbonise the economy will create jobs and wealth, but it would be worth doing even it meant the opposite. We owe that much to our children, and our children's children."

These are the words that Scott Morrisson should have spoken today in the wake of the damning report. Instead, we got the same tired old evasion from a morally bankrupt leader. The most important thing we can do as citizens is to vote out this Government, and demand that their replacement treats the climate crisis like what it is: an existential threat if ignored and a once in a lifetime opportunity if seized to grow a sustainable economy for the next 100 years.
