One of the most distinguished figures we’ve been fortunate to work alongside is Inspector Mick Dowie, whose remarkable career with the QPS spans an impressive 40 years. Throughout his tenure, Mick has played pivotal roles in various divisions, including the State Crime Command and the Homicide Investigation Unit. His expertise in handling some of the most complex and high-profile investigations in Queensland’s history has made a lasting impact on the community and the justice system.

From uncovering intricate criminal networks to solving cases that captured public attention, Mick’s dedication to his work has been nothing short of extraordinary. His ability to lead investigations with precision and tenacity has brought closure to countless cases and justice to many victims. Whether it was a high-stakes homicide investigation or a challenging rural crime case, Mick’s leadership and deep understanding of criminal behavior have been instrumental in ensuring successful outcomes.

As Inspector of the Capricornia District in Rockhampton, Mick brought this wealth of experience to every project he touched, including our collaborations with the Queensland Police Service. His insights and leadership have been crucial in shaping our rural crime prevention campaigns and broader safety initiatives, making sure they resonate with the communities they aim to protect.

Now, as Mick retires after four decades of distinguished service, we want to take a moment to honor his incredible legacy. His contributions to the QPS and our work at Imagine Media are immeasurable. Mick’s role in high-profile investigations, his unwavering commitment to justice, and his leadership across various roles have left an indelible mark on all who have had the privilege to work with him.
