Okay, so I know we've talked about collaboration over competition, so why am I giving you this tip? Because it's smart! Your competitor's social media accounts hold vital information, and you can use this information to help engage your own audience and to increase your reach. Go visit your competitors socials and check the following:
- what social media platforms are they using?
- what times are they posting?
- what content are they producing?
These insights can give you a great awareness into successful posts and great engagement levels, which you can then replicate on your own social platforms. NO! I am not telling you to outright copy and plagiarize the work of others. What I am saying, however, is to gather this knowledge and use it in creating your own content, using your brand's voice and tailor it to your target audience. The secret to a successful small business has nothing to do with selling - it is all about the value you can add to your audience's life. Are you solving a problem for them? Competition in female-owned small business is an interesting thing. Spending years surrounded by it, and participating in many deep conversations about it, more often than not, I've found that business owners are quite reluctant to share their knowledge, skills, experiences, etc. Why do you think that is? Is it due to a narrative created by an environment governed by masculinity for so long? Breeding competitiveness and secrets? Is it because women feel that by sharing what we know, we will somehow lose a part of the business we have worked so hard to build? Or perhaps it's fear - you know the dreaded imposter syndrome, that we might find out that we don't actually hold as much wisdom as we thought, that we'll be found it...
Today I challenge you to share your knowledge with your community. Share your experience, share a tip or trick you've learned along the way, let your community know that you want to support them and nurture them. Let them know of your abundance and ask them to join you in sisterhood. Build relationships in your community, champion each other - don't fight to the death. There is room for everyone to succeed - so be that light, hold that space, and shine!

Branding is one of the most important components to the success of your business. Here are some facts that might convince you to perform an audit on your platforms:
- A consistent brand image increases revenue by up to 33%
- Color increases brand recognition by up to 80%
- 75% of people recognize a brand by its logo, 60% by its visual style, 45% by the brand’s signature color, and 25% by its unique voice
I urge you to take 10-15 minutes and look at how you present your brand on your social media platforms. Do you have a recognisable logo? Are your colours consistent? Are you using the same font/s? Is your tone and personality the same? If not, consider the percentage I have shared above. A few tweaks and better planning may increase your brand's recognition and revenue by quite a large percentage, all for minimal effort.

Being a social media manager is all about solutions. You might have a great product, you might offer a great service, but ultimately, what your target audience want is for you to help them to fix their pain points - they want solutions to problems they may not even realize they have! So before you start on the hard sell, try becoming a problem solver instead. Your engagement will thank you for it!
What seeds are you planting today for your future? Sometimes we think that the little things don’t matter, that the baby steps don’t count. But every tiny action, each foot forward is one more than doing nothing at all. So turn the soil, sprinkle your seeds into the earth, nurture them, encourage them, and watch as the little shoots grow.

I'm 40. I went to Uni straight out of school - didn't complete anything. I've worked many different jobs over the years. Had a family. Run businesses. I have walked many roads. But I decided that this year it was time to walk a new one - to start paving a road that I could build on, sculpt, grow. I wondered how challenging that might be, as I work part-time and have two children at home, not to mention the fact that my brain really hadn't been exercised a great deal for a number of years. The desire for more for myself, though, led me to journey in this new direction of study. Don't ever settle because it's easy or out of fear of the unknown. Brick by brick, stone by stone, pave the path towards your hopes, dreams and goals. Don't settle for less than you deserve!
Once you are clear on your messaging, keep track of current trends for each platform you post on. Capitalize on these trends to drive engagement and to increase your reach. Important note: make sure the trend aligns with your brand - there's no point jumping on board for the sake of it. Alignment is key! Make sure the trend is consistent with your overall voice and mission and ride that wave!

Are you struggling with content ideas? Then re-use what you've got!
Head to your analytics and check to see what content has worked well for you. Then repurpose your message! Change up the graphics, add a video, or a different photo. Then copy and paste the caption and voila! Same message, proven results, new content.
Try this for your top five posts and you have a week's worth of new (old) content. This will reiterate your message to your existing audience, but will also let your new followers know what you're all about.
