Dear Listeners, French and Chinese hour will take a break tonight.

27/02/2020

Coming right up for this Thursday French and Chinese hour is a little something about the Wurumungu word for crazy from two artists working at Barkly Arts. And then, a little something on how some of our Tennant Creek community members take care of their mental health because some days can feel pretty crazy. Everyone has their rough days, although we might not all talk about it easily, don't be afraid to reach out for help or reach out to someone who might have need (but might not know how to ask) for your support. Tune in to 102.1fm or live stream from www.8ccc.com.au

After all this rain in Central Australia, all the insects come out, especially our favorite, the f**king flies. So, in celebration, flies, cicadas, grasshoppers, bees, and even worm holes feature on the French and Chinese hour this 20th Feb. Thursday, 7pm-8pm. Tune into 102.1fm or stream this live from the 8ccc website, while you sit on the proverbial porch, with the gentle chirping of crickets in the distance and let's swat away the annoying fly, together.

Hong Kong pop star, Eason Chan, started in 1995, has sold over 20 million albums and is definately no 'one-hit wonder'. This Thursday 13th Feb, 7pm-8pm, I will play you a few of my favorites of his in a special and very chill Eason Chan hour. There will be a prize for the listener who can first identify which song in the mix was sung and written by Jay Chou, and featured Eason as a collaborator. (I don't mention it during the show). Tune onto 102.1 this Thursday at 7pm or jump on the 8ccc website for a live stream.

This Thursday 6th of Feb, we have Chinese citizen, Tennant Creek-based working backpackers, Mandy and Rei sharing their unique points of view, opinions, and music with you. English will be our main language of discussion, and where that's not easy (English is not their mother tongue after all!), some translation to English will occur for your convenience. Tune your radios to 102.1fm, 7pm-8pm (Tennant Creek time) this Thursday or hop on to www.8ccc.com.au for the live stream

This coming Thursday (January 30th, 7pm-8pm Tennant Creek time) we have two Chinese backpackers, Mandy and Rei, in the spotlight of 102.1FM. As Chinese citizens living outside of China on a working holiday visa, they share their insights on the environment, Chinese politics and culture, the Hong Kong protests, and the recent outbreak of Wu Han Corona virus. And of course, they will share a couple of their favorite tunes. Mandarin will be the main language of conversation. If anyone would like a translation of the discussion, please do send me a message below! To those tuning in online, jump onto https://8ccc.com.au/live/
