Would you fu***ng believe it, I’m 10 years sober today. No drugs, no booze, no smokes, no nothing for 10 years. I count myself one of the lucky ones, there really isn’t a drug I haven’t dabbled in. I spent years and years under the influence and on the hunt for the next party, I loved it!! It’s been a journey I really never saw possible in my early years. Staying sober has changed my life, it’s changed the way I look at things in the world, it’s made me more empathetic and most importantly, it’s (mostly) kept me out of trouble. I’ve done a lot of reflecting through the years, and realised just how much simpler and drama free my life is now without the constant fu***ng up. Being sober was ultimately the high I was chasing. Cheers to everyone who’s been part of this journey, people like Trouble, Mooks, Dave Thomo, and Beau have been huge inspirations through the years and none of this would’ve been possible without my awesome as f**k wife Kristy, keeping me in check! F**k it I’m officially making the claim today! SYDNEY STRAIGHT EDGE! The soda waters are on me! Cheers everyone!

That was huge! Thanks so much to Stu and SINGING BIRD STUDIOS in Frankston for his pure passion, and love for the scene. Stu has built not just a venue, he’s built a community. I fu***ng LOVE Frankston. Thanks to you and your team for having us bro, appreciate your hospitality. To Darby and the crew from the LAST CHANCE ROCK N ROLL BAR much the same, thanks for accommodating and dealing with my ADHD brain on the night. I love the LAST CHANCE ROCK N ROLL BAR so much that I’ve decided if I’m ever gonna relapse I’m gonna do it there. To all the bands that put in the hard work, thanks a million, we couldn’t have done it without you all. Huge thanks to NO GRACE, L.O.W, BACKHAND and GRIM REALTY for doubling up and playing both shows over the weekend. A special shout out to the lads from CONSEQUENCES who flew down for the one show, cheers boys. To Robert from LIFE LAIR REGRET, thanks for helping out, always awesome to catch up with you and RAITBAIT absolutely fu***ng rule.
To our friends Trav, Luke, Chris, Mick L, Johnny Walsh St, Paul VC, Bek and Tracey thanks heaps for coming out to the party, great to see you all! To all the peeps that came to the shows, seriously, we can’t thank you enough. To be closing in on near pensioner age and be able to come and play a hardcore punk rock show for yas makes my heart swell with pure fu***ng joy. Thanks for coming out, without your support there are no shows and no hardcore punk scene. Of course a massive shout out to the TOE TO TOE lads. They started this s**t and remain one of the most important bands in Australian hardcore history, it’s an honour to be apart of it.

Special mentions also have to go Danny Young from FRANKSTON TATTOO and Spider Deth from the MELBOURNE TATTOO COMPANY. Thanks for the catch ups and going gentle on me.

Took in the sights of Frankston before the show yesterday and dropped in to see this absolute legend of a human that I haven’t seen for many many years. Danny use to drum in some of my favourite bands including NATION OF HATE, MAGNACITE and now days EDDY CURRENT SUPPRESION RING. Danny also runs BLANK CLOTHING that seriously made the best ever hoodies know to man. Was a great catch up. Thanks for the hospitality and the heads up on Lucky’s Deli!

A big shout out to our friend and mentor the legendary Phil MacDougal. Phil’s just cracked a 45 year stint at Melbourne’s PBS radio doing his weekly Sunglasses After Dark program that’s played many a tune from our back catalogue through the years. For those not in the know, Phil also started the legendary REACTOR RECORDS and has released records by hardcore legends DEPRESSION and VICIOUS CIRCLE amongst others. Huge hugs to Phil on his milestone! Congrats mate. A true Aussie punk legend!

A huge shout out to all the peeps that came out to the COMPOUND LP launch last night! What a wild one! A massive thanks to all the support bands that put in a huge effort, SNITCH TRIAL, MASS CONTROL, XNCHOODSX, INTRUDE, BACKHAND, THE REAL DEAL and the mighty L.O.W. You all ruled. Cheers to Waywards for the hospitality and Nikki the awesome sound peep who made all the bands sound like they knew what they were doing! A special mention goes out to Kelso who played in every band on the night! Cheers to everyone that grabbed a copy of the LP.
