Neon Bones - Been deep in listening for the last 8 hours, I fu***ng love it!

Left at the Avenue - the mix sounds absolutely unreal, we're all so stoked!!

Winter Starlings - Thank you so much, it sounds amazing, I love it!! You have nailed it and interpreted the song so well, bringing out the bits I love.

Day 6 - "our drummer is super stoked man"

High Tropics - Oh man, you gave it some loving, sounds so much beefier - you've nailed everything!

Domestic La La / the legend that is Craig Selak - Mate, this sounds absolutely unreal. Love the direction you’ve taken it! Keeps the essence of the band, but its taken it to another level.

Scarlett Drive - Wow, really vibing this mix! Really stoked with how this turned out, you really brought the track out of it’s shell/flatness.

The Spencer Music Project - Those mixes are sounding bloody excellent. Been listening and am very happy with them indeed, no changes needed!

Suzi ft Sly Withers - WOW. First listen and I am absolutely obsessed. It sounds perfect. You’ve nailed it.

Day 5 - "Love the cool vocal effect"

LOSER - the mix is incredible and exactly what we have been trying to achieve from day dot. We all literally wouldn't change a thing.

Copious Dribble - We are absolutely blown away with what you've done for us. This is by far the best sounding track I've ever been apart of so thank you for that.

Jon Ann - Wow we can’t explain how happy we are with the results. This has turned out so great, sounds big and has plenty of bite.

Lancaster Sound - You've done an amazing job with it. Will come back to you after I sit with it for a bit.. although I suspect there won't be much if anything.

𝐉𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐡 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐨 - Wow! They sound very profesh! So exciting! I LOVE the lead vocals. Done an amazing job on those.

Day 2 - "Man, even the piano sounds hot"

The Hard Aches - Been blasting the track and I tell ya what, we are loving this mix! You've hit the nail on the head.

The Flashpot Moments - I love this. We definitely achieved the vibe I was hoping for. It totally grooves, but the guitars are really punchy and gutsy.

The Sleepyheads - Mate! You're a wizard, you've killed it as always.

Marrow Lane - Holy s**t man, we love it! Everything you did, the levels of everything are so much better than original.

I loathe self-promotion, but is it boasting just to quote my wonderful clients? Yes, because this is social media.

Some background first. Mixing in my own space, alone, is great. It keeps costs down, I get heaps done, and don't have to worry about hair and makeup.

I do miss the good vibes of playing a first mix to a band or artist in the studio and experiencing their reaction. Being hoist in the air like Wally here was one memorable response, especially as the ceiling was quite low. No CTE that I'm aware of, but then again sometimes mid thought I

Long post because it's an anniversary of sorts.

It just dawned on me that it's 30 years to the week since my first foray into recording/production - all that stuff. I was 17 and it was a 4-track recording of my high school band, but it counts.

The pic is from 1999 I think, looks like the old 301 in Castlereagh St Sydney. And yes of course, I'm just pretending to turn a k**b - secretly I have no idea how to use those big mixer things.

Thanks to all of the artists over the years - without you I'd probably be mixing batter rather than songs, so cheers.

Some have become good friends, some have become stars, some are still smoking w**d in their mum's house - the music biz sure is a diverse one.

I don't want to play favourites and say what the most enjoyable project has been, but as for unusual the Will and Jada-Pinket Smith sessions were um, interesting. The power couple, along with baby Willow and 3 year Jaden where in the studio for a few nights as vocals for the Fresh Prince's upcoming album were being re-tracked. Let's just say bodyguards, a nanny and assistants running about during a fairly simple vocal session was slight overkill.

I also recall I was chewing gum and it annoyed Will, so he slapped me and repeatedly yelled 'get that gum out your fu***ng mouth'. Or maybe he asked that the A/C be turned down - it was one or the other.

Anyway if you enjoy scrolling here's 200 or so artists I can recall working with. Many, many more but my record-keeping hasn't been all that thorough, so apologies if you've been left off.

Earlier this year I reunited with an old mate to revisit a bunch of Silverchair songs for Ben's 'Behind The Beat' project. We both felt a little senior when we realised it was over 20 years between drinks. Crazy to think I was 11 and Ben was just 8 when we worked on this particular track together.
