to an iconic time in Aussie Film and TV history!

Here’s Lemac founder John Bowring ACS behind the scenes with Paul Hogan and director Peter Faiman on ‘The Paul Hogan Show’ in the early 80s.

This shot was taken just a few years after Lemac was founded—hard to believe we’re celebrating 50 years in 2025!

Not long after this pic, ‘Crocodile Dundee’ took the world by storm, becoming Australia’s highest-grossing film of all time – a title that it still holds today.

With the upcoming 4K restoration of this now quintessential Aussie classic, a treasure trove of unseen archival footage has been unearthed—including some shot by Lemac’s own JB himself.

‘LOVE OF AN ICON: THE LEGEND OF CROCODILE DUNDEE’, is a brand-new documentary by Delvene Delaney.

It pays tribute to her husband John Cornell, who played the lovable character of ‘Strop’ on ‘The Paul Hogan Show’ and was the producer of ‘Crocodile Dundee’.

A revealing and heartfelt documentary that invites audiences behind the scenes to witness the battles, breakthroughs, and unbelievable twists that made the film a reality.

Lemac is honoured to have been selected as the technology provider for the Sydney Opera House’s recent camera and lens upgrades for the Recording and Broadcast Studio. It was a significant undertaking involving the testing, demoing, installation and training of cutting-edge new camera, lens, fibre and support systems. With the growing demand for content for global streaming, high-end local and international broadcast as well as live events, the system had to meet several specific requirements.

The delivered solution included several Sony VENICE 2 camera systems paired with 2 x Fujinon DUVO 25-1000mm box zoom lenses & several Canon Cine-Servo zoom lenses, all integrated with MultiDyne fibre system and all supported by a curated selection of accessories that allow for coverage across the whole grounds of the Opera House. With this new setup, the Sydney Opera House’s Recording and Broadcast Studio is now equipped to deliver large format cinematic images to global platforms like Netflix, Apple TV+, HBO & Amazon Prime for many years to come.

IN CINEMAS TODAY - ‘SPIT’

20 years after his unforgettable role in ‘Gettin’ Square’, David Wenham reprises the character of Johnny “Spit” Spitieri. The Crime Comedy finds Johnny back on the Gold Coast after 20 years on the run, while old enemies come to settle scores.

After 20 years not quite on the run, but certainly having a few more runs under their belts, both DP Garry Phillips ACS and director Jonathan Teplitzky also reprise their roles for ‘SPIT’.

When approached about the film, Lemac National Rentals Manager Tim Jordin worked with Garry to find the right camera and lens combination. After testing, Garry chose to shoot on Sony Venice paired with an 11 lens set of our stunning vintage rehoused Minolta Rokkors, vintage Canon K35 25-120mm Macro Zoom & vintage rehoused Canon FD 50-300mm zoom. Just like Johnny, these images have just the right amount of character.

OUT NOW - ‘APPLE CIDER VINEGAR’

Airing now on Netflix, the limited series was produced by See-Saw Films, directed by Jeffrey Walker and was shot in Melbourne and South-East Queensland by Toby Oliver ACS.

Toby shot on the ARRI Alexa 35 primarily with a compact gimbal mounted Red V-Raptor, all paired to the classic Angenieux Optimo Lightweight Zooms and the Fujinon Premista Zooms.

The series is inspired by a true story that was based on a lie. Belle Gibson (played by Kaitlyn Dever) is an Australian influencer who claims to have cured her terminal brain cancer through health and wellness… sounds unlikely, well that’s because it is.

'INVISIBLE BOYS' - Launching February 13th on Stan!

The 10-part drama series was adapted from WA author Holden Sheppard's award winning book of the same title. The series is an emotional tale that explores the struggles faced by a group of gay teenage boys in Geraldton WA.

Created and Directed by Nicholas Verso, the series was shot on location in Perth & Geraldton by DP Jason Hargreaves ACS.

Jason chose the Sony VENICE 2 for it's flexibility on set having used both the VENICE & VENICE 2 on previous drama projects. At one point Geraldton was the HOTTEST PLACE ON EARTH - 53 degrees, and the camera's just kept rolling alongside some very dedicated crew.

On the glass front multiple sets of vintage rehoused Leica-R Primes were paired with our Leica-R APO 70-180mm Zoom, Voigtländer 36-82mm Zoomar and Musashi Takumi 29-120mm Full Frame Zooms.
