THE WILTED ROSE |

Launching today via to coincide with the ‘s International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

Lemac were proud to support director Elise Lamb and DP Jake Koning on this project that explores a such an important and delicate topic within our society.
The Wilted Rose is thought provoking and evocative.

Jake paired our ARRI Alexa Mini LF with P+S Technik Technovision 1.5x Full Frame Anamorphic Primes, capturing a tone that is both beautiful and harrowing at the same time.

Now, Lemac is proud to be the exclusive Australia/New Zealand dealers and service support partners for TRIBE⁷, offering their revolutionary BLACKWING⁷ lenses alongside the newly announced EZANA range.

Who is TRIBE⁷ ?

Founded as a collaboration between artist and Academy Award-nominated cinematographer Bradford Young, ASC, and Neil Fanthom, motion picture camera and lens technologist, TRIBE⁷ is a company dedicated to deepening the possibilities of contemporary image creation.

BLACKWING⁷ optics exhibit unique imaging properties which arise from the introduction of controlled distortion during the development and manufacturing processes. This distortion is modular and allows a level of tuneability over key parameters which shape many creative characteristics of the lenses.

Many of the design cues for BLACKWING⁷ primes originate in optics manufactured during the 1930 - 1960s, with each focal length having an underlying level of distortion which can be controlled to produce strong artistic resonances including unique flaring characteristics.

With EZANA, the creative team were inspired by ultra-widescreen Cinerama, when the iconic 2.76:1 aspect ratio was gaining popularity in the 1950s, EZANA reimagines this aesthetic by blending spherical optics with an anamorphic look.

All EZANA primes feature Multi-Coated optics, a warmer look with amber flare characteristics, a new pupil (rainbow) flare that sits somewhere between the T and X Tuned BLACKWING⁷ and a crossover (oval) iris design which when shooting at the open end gives a medium format anamorphic feel to images and bokeh.

An interesting read about how Sony and ZEISS teamed up to support a TVC production for McLaren and Gulf Oil earlier in the year.
