As Indonesia wouldn’t allow Israel to participate, AFA president Chiqui Tapia has now offered Argentina as potential host.

Tomorrow there’s a meeting in Asunción-Paraguay between Tapia and Infantino.

Sharing a personal story. Story of how came to existence

Today is Jan-18-2023. It marks one month since this beautiful moment is etched into our memories for rest of our lives.

I thought long and hard if I should even write this post or not. But, I feel it’s worth sharing it with everyone.

Before , I used to be part of management group of Argentina Football fans. It was a group of 25-30k post 2014 World Cup when I joined them. It was first time in my life I was in a pool of Argentina fans and I was excited. Through my sheer hard work day and night, I was eventually made part of the admin/working committee of that group.

By the time I left them in 2018(post World Cup), it was a strong group of nearly 1 lakh members. I’m proud to say I played an integral role in that.

Post 2014 World Cup to 2018 World Cup, it was probably the most turbulent time to be an Argentina fan. For everything that went wrong, people wasted no opportunity to bash . With 3 final loses, they abused Messi, they said there is no comparison to him and Maradona, he’s not Argentine, he should have chosen Spain-where he was comfortable. He always chokes in knockout rounds, waste of a space in final etc etc.

I defended Messi. Left, right, center. I was there to take on anyone who even lifted a finger on him. It didn’t bother me when they called me am a Messi fan, not Argentina. After we got knocked out by France, I knew I had to leave. It was as if it’s uncool to be Messi fan.

I contacted few people I could trust and started . It was obviously difficult to start from scratch. As i grew up, workload and responsibilities hampered my ability to post the news continuously. But, I kept at it. Tried to post important events and now we are trying to videos.

When I see this below pic, I feel proud of myself. I feel i played a part in Messi’s World Cup. I feel vindicated for relentless belief in Messi and knowing he was never the problem why Argentina fared so bad in all those years.

Same people who drove me away from AFF group(few people of admin/management did support me as well) were suddenly worlds biggest fans of Messi. I laughed initially, but later I felt sorry for them. They couldn’t understand value of our Messiah.

THANK YOU MESSI FOR COMING BACK AND FULFILLING OUR DREAMS. ♥️

Football’s first global star Pele passed away today at the age of 82.

It’s been few years since Pele was battling health issues. At the start of Qatar World Cup, it was revealed that he would be in ICU for some time to come.

Half Time: Argentina 2-0 France

What Argentina is doing is, they are not only winning the first touches but also second ones. Argentina is able to do that because we bombarded them so hard, their entire supply lines to Mbappe and Giroud were neutralized.

We played some fantastic tango passing football. Please note French have not had single shot on target.

French are visibly shaken and made changes. They will come strong. That means Argentina has to play with utmost concentration and needs to play smart.

We are there, at least 50 percent

All to play for in second half. We can do this

In 12 hours this team will take the pitch in fight for the World Cup.

We came into this tournament with plenty of expectations. We started with an unfortunate defeat against the Saudis. After the match, first thing Messi told us supporters was - “keep the faith. We won’t let you down”.

Our Messiah and his compatriots kept their word by not only improving their confidence in each following match they played but also showed their tactical awareness and learnings. Applying them to next match. What an amazing learning curve.

Post Copa 19 final to till now, this team has consistently played attractive brand of football and went 30+ games unbeaten. In these 3 years, they have given us so many beautiful memories. Memories we long yearned for. Because, our elder fans may have seen 78 and 86 wins, but we constantly faced one disappointment after another.

We are so proud of this Argentina team.

Tomorrow’s game vs France is 50/50. It’s anyone’s game. Argentina are the team which has consistently improved and learned each game passing, where as France showed how impressive their squad depth is.

So, no matter what happens tomorrow. Remember the happiness we got to experience thanks to this group of wonderful youngsters backed Scaloni and his coaching staff is immeasurable.

Let’s support our boys, each and every single player. Players whom you even don’t like but are there in the team till 90 mins, if required 120 or even penalties.

WE WILL NEVER STOP OUR SUPPORT TO ARGENTINA

Eat well, hydrate yourself and rest well

Feeling anxious, tension, lack of sleep? Please read this

So in little over 2 days on Sunday, we will play our World Cup final vs France.

We are on cusp of glory. It’s natural that each and everyone of you are scrolling through twitter feeds trying to find latest news. When you do that, you know what happens? You are caught in a web of anxiety

Bit of a background. First final I saw as Argentina fan was 2004 Copa America final. Although there was no twitter to give reliable news, I spent much of time thinking about the final. Eventually leading to disappointment

Same streak followed for 2005 Confederations Cup final, 2007 Copa America Final, 2014 FIFA World Cup final, 2015 and 2016 Copa America final. I continued the same thing for Copa America 2019. Although we didn’t reach the final. I was invested time in every match

But for 2021 Copa America I took different approach.

1. I followed news but kept it to bare minimum on what’s happening. Didn’t dwell myself into twitter all day

2. easier said then done to stay away from twitter, I distracted myself with other things. Work obviously. Off work i threw myself on Netflix and other OTT platforms, played my Xbox.

3. most importantly, I ate and slept well. I woke up just 30 mins before the match.

What was the result of doing these things? I felt much lighter. I didn’t feel tense about facing Brazil in the final.

This is the best way to prepare yourself for the final.

Respect needs to be earned. Yes, winning and losing is part of the game and sometimes teams tend to lose themselves. But, that is not happened vs the Dutch. It was intimidation of highest order

And if there’s one thing rivals who need to understand about us, you provoke us, we bite back right at you.
