It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of one of the truly great men of the Croatian Community in Sydney. Ante Gavranić has passed. Anyone who visited Hrvatsko Drištvo Sydney in Marrickville or Punchbowl would recognise Ante’s smiling and welcoming face. An absolute legend of the community. We send our condolences to his daughters Vesna and Biserka who informed us of his passing. Many, many, many great memories of Ante at both venues. May he rest in God’s eternal peace

Ante was born 8th February 1932 in Blato, Korčula and passed away on December 6, 2024.

In case you missed it, last Friday the total raised for the Croatian Six has amounted to just shy of $58 000 - an incredible effort by the community.

Please find below the speech made by barrister Sebastian De Brennan who is leading the Croatian Six's application for Judicial Review. The community's help is instrumental in this push, and we need to keep going to ensure that we can finally right this wrong.

CRO2000RADIO Nostalgija

On this day 24 years ago (23/10/2000) Petar Grašo came to the 2000FM studios in Sydney to be interviewed during his first Australian tour. Below are some photos of the studio visit. The CRO2000RADIO crew pictured back then included Ante Grabovac, Mile Abramović, Marinko Golik and Ross Susić. On that tour of Croatian clubs Grašo was joined by a blonde Severina.

12 years later in 2012 he came out solo and performed at Sydney’s Seymour Centre and true to the time line of another 12 years he is back in Sydney this week playing at a sold out King Tom Club on Friday and the massive Croktoberfest Melbourne Knights FC on Saturday.

This week we spin more Grašo tunes in the lead up to the big shows this weekend. Everyone attending, enjoy.
