One of the very few DJʼs who can play a variety of instruments right from the drums to other exotic world percussions live while DJing! When Suman started Djing in the late 90's, there were literally just three prominent nightclubs in the city and the crazy nights that used to be that seasoned party animals recall and get nostalgic about sure ignited his passion to DJ. Suman had his share of a fig
ht to get behind the decks but without losing enthusiasm started off his career with the humble job of being the lights jockey at the classic ʻTime and Againʼ nightclub. It was no looking back from here onwards with the virtually endless list of residencies and gigs performed right from Black Cadillac, Orions, Bunkers, Jeffereys, 13th Floor, Egypt, Zap, Oblivion, Ivy, Urban Edge, Noir and a lot more. The Performer that he is, Suman was never satisfied with mixing tunes on decks which put him on the grid lock considering his musical talent. “I recall this crazy night when for the first time i started playing the djembe and doumbek (exotic African & Turkish percussion instruments which he explained) along with the vinyl, I was spinning and crowd went berserk! says an excited Suman who just felt the adrenaline rush recalling the moment. A whole new clan was being formed from the party people who admired his skills seen on a whole new level of DJing. Sumanʼs unique talent has taken him places both India and abroad and every time his performance leaves people craving more! My influences include the international pioneers of EDM right from Tiesto, PVD, Armin Van Buuren, Carl Cox and Richard Durand. Right now i have stopped spinning on vinyls though it will remain my first love. I am more focussed on digital DJing so that it gives more time to get creative with the percussion and other instruments i play along.
