My Kind Co Creative Director Lisa Tatman is making creative connections across generations in our community. Congrats to the Balmain Association and to Lisa for supporting this long-standing community group with an intergenerational 'Human Library' event program and film series for the Power Up Festival White Bay Power Station, Wangal. Lisa is now Chair of the Balmain Association's new Arts and Culture Committee based at Balmain Watch House. Looking forward to seeing you at the this weekend and bring the kids! And the Archibald season is upon us. 👏🏻 Finalists announced 👏🏻 Congratulations to the artists in the mix, such an achievement. Exhibition opens June 8th....... "The prize will be awarded, in the terms of the will of the late JF Archibald dated 15 March 1916, to the best portrait ‘preferentially of some man or woman distinguished in art, letters, science or politics, painted by any artist resident in Australasia during the 12 months preceding the date fixed by the Trustees for sending in the pictures."

A blast from the recent past will hit our stages next year dancing to a new beat!

Exciting news - a live-action stage musical based on the iconic Aussie kids’ show Round The Twist will make its theatrical debut next year!

Round the Twist the Musical, based on the television show produced by the ACTF from the short stories of Paul Jennings, will premiere with Queensland Theatre in November 2024.

‘The Art of Play’ Mural concept design by Creative Director Lisa Tatman, was executed by brilliant mural artist @lottealexis and revealed across the 3 days of Edge Balmain @Little Treasure Chest. The colourful, historically and locally inspired mural represents- the wonderful community established through play and our 6 local primary schools, diversity and inclusion, and the influence of women and children of the past and the future. This story is a work in progress and more is to come.
