First Nations voices, stories, music and issues are vital in our society - please support our work to amplify and advocate for First Nations artists, musicians, storytellers, writers, journalists and broadcasters.

We are working to upgrade our broadcasting Radio Studios in Redfern as we continue to present a program that reflects and affirms the diverse cultures and identities of our First Nations Communities across the Greater Sydney Region, NSW and Australia.

As a small Not for Profit Aboriginal Corporation your support will enable us to better broadcast the stories and music that are often neglected by mainstream media.

Our events programs need your support to host new and emerging First Nations talent in culturally safe venues while building skills and capacity with First Nations Producers, crew and artists.

Sign up and support us in our work with Koori Radio, Yabun Festival, the Kameygal Music Studio and Klub Koori!!!

If you can donate once or make a regular contribution.

Stand with us to amplify our First Nations Voice!!!

BLAK MARKETS RETURNS TO THE ROCKS FOR ONE DAY

JUST IN TIME FOR CHRISTMAS SHOPPING!

The Rocks, Sydney - December 2024 - Blak Markets is making its way back to The Rocks just in time for Christmas. Brought to you by Indigenous Australian charity, First Hand Solutions Aboriginal Corporation, the Blak Markets Christmas Market will open for one day only on Sunday 22 December, 10am - 4pm at Dawes Point in The Rocks, right under the Harbour Bridge with views out over the water.

The Blak Markets are an established, ethical Indigenous market and social enterprise that celebrates the work of First Nation small business owners. The Rocks is hosting a one-day Blak Markets event with the following stallholders: IndigiGrow, Baagi Milaygiin, Soul Reign, River Sistas, Marara Designs, Tarri Jayne Collective, Yaingayaingarra, Sonia Pallett, Gwiyaala Aboriginal Art, Kalthi Consultancy, Dollies Tribe, Caressa Designs, Saretta Art & Design, Tarni Jane Designs, Aussie Didge Arts & Craft, Dulu Dreaming, Deadly Unique Designs, Ambers Food Wraps, Sesasa, Balgarra Designs.

This special event offers Sydneysiders a chance to celebrate First Nations culture while discovering unique Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island cultural gifts, with the knowledge that 100% of the profits are going back into their communities.

The Blak Markets will kick off with a traditional Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony at 10:30am and feature 20 local and regional NSW Indigenous Australian stalls with the aim of celebrating Indigenous makers, artists and small business owners. There will be free interactive weaving workshops (from 10:30am - 3:30pm), Buuja Buuja Butterfly Dance Group performances and native plant workshops by IndigiGrow for the kids.

CEO, Peter Cooley, said "We're really proud that the Blak Markets has proved to be a great success for both visitors to the Markets and our stallholders over such a long period, and we’re thrilled to bring them back to The Rocks in time for Christmas.”

“There is nothing quite like shopping at the Blak Markets. Not only do you get to see the art and craft up close, but you get to hear the story behind it from the artist who created it.” Peter added.
