Creating a book for BOOK WEEK

The literacy table was set up with print shapes, cutting shapes, scissors, markers and glue. In the first stage of creating the book, Macy cut out the shapes and then glued them to the first page.

Moving to the second page, Macy continued her work by gluing various shapes. As she placed the last piece, she said: A circle.

As this point, her educator encourage her to draw some shapes for the final page. Once Macy finished her artwork, her educator put the pages together.

Macy approached her educator to help read the book. Macy enhanced her communication skills by repeating the names of the shapes. Macy was proud of her artwork in creating her own book.

Macy sat down independently at the literacy table. She began to create horizontal lines and vertical lines, creating a cross.

Macy listens to her educator's instructions when drawing various shapes. She was able to trace the circle, square, rectangle, and triangle, and she used verbal communication to pronounce some of the shapes.

During outdoor play, Macy was interested in observing picture books and explored outdoors by riding the bike.

During Indoor play Macy engaged in playdough making pizza and drawing. This activity provided an excellent opportunity for children to enhance their fine motor skills, use their imagination, and facilite communication.
