Our circular fashion show was such an exciting activation, involving so many talented young fashion creatives.

Iā€™m super busy working on various projects that will bring circular fashion to the centre of societal change so watch this space.

If you know anyone who loves to upcycle old clothes or thrifted fabric/table linen/bedsheets - tell them to get in touch!

Guys this is what's happening for the next 3 Saturdays:
*Re Fashion: Events that bring your shopping experience full circle*
In collaboration with Re Place - Inner West , Questioning Fashion podcast's Jo Gambale of Slogue presents a series of circular workshops that prove fashion really is more than just shopping.
Join us on Saturday 10, 17 & 24 August between 11am & 315pm at the Sustainability Hub, 7 Prospect Rd, Summer Hill.
Events include:
- Mindful T-shirt yarn making session
& talk with Kim Pearce from The Possibility Project
- Loom weaving with T-shirt yarn, with Bridie Batterham-Murphy of slow fashion label Undone.
- Turn vintage cotton tableware into attachable collars with Saint Joan Atelierā€™s Charlotte Bakker.
- Revive menā€™s shirts into avant-garde blouses with minimal sewing, led by Who Am U designer Samara Darling.
- Ali Dibley & Jo Gambale chat with Eden Maytal about her journey from broke fashion student to the pages of Vogue.
- Couture-trained & circular fashion darling Eden Maytal shows us how to make a Vogue worthy flower pin using old shirts and jeans.

First in - best dressed so be there for 11am for the morning workshop or 1pm for the afternoon workshop to avoid disappointment.

See you there!

Hello lovely supporters,

Turns out our Questioning Fashion podcast is in the top 25% in the world in terms of listeners/downloads. Last year it appeared in double digit ā€˜favouriteā€™ lists according to Spotify.

Not bad for a pod we started a year ago, recording between customers in the back room of co-host Ali Dibleyā€™s vintage store in Bell Street. (The fabulous clothes provide great sound proofing from the chicken shop next door.)

Our tagline is ā€œbecause thereā€™s more to fashion than shoppingā€ since Ali and I are lucky enough to have already discovered the joys of circular fashion, and of ā€˜shoppingā€™ our own wardrobes by restyling, reworking, upcycling (and outsourcing all that if we need!) - so we want to share that with our listeners, while also picking apart the psychological and social complexities of shopping and fashion through the ages.

In our latest episode about the phenomenon of global dress-ups for pop concerts and even movies (well, Barbie at least), we discuss our inner conflict.

On one hand we love to see so many have fun with fashion as communities, on the other,
we wonder whether the Swiftiesā€™ 7 million once-worn plastic garments are destined for landfill. About 20% of those are the same sparkly mini skirt from Shein.

We address the sequin-covered elephant in the room but with warmth and understanding and humour.

We hope to welcome you to our Substack community soon.

Will sequined Swifties end up destroying the planet???

While itā€™s actually on Marrickvilleā€™s Illawarra Road, Bell Street vintage store does feel a million miles away from the busy inner-west road once you walk through the front door. Jewel-hued taffeta, vintage lace and tulle, silks, velvets and intricate embroideryā€¦ oh, and then there are the seq...

So despite my week-long flu completely ruining my fashion week plans, I still piqued the interest of plenty of street style photographers.

What can I say? Some of us donā€™t really need to try.

As Naomi Campbell once quipped, I donā€™t get out of bed for less thanā€¦ā€¦.

Actually I just donā€™t get out of bed.

Unless my coughing fits make me p*e my pants and I have to change them.

Oh hey actually - the penultimate shot is from last year and features me with and ā€¦ then the very last shot is me and Charlene, like, reconnecting again this year, exchanging style tips n such.
