A banana duct-taped to a wall just sold for $6.2 million at Sotheby’s. Maurizio Cattelan’s *Comedian* has once again ignited a debate about value and meaning in the art world. Purchased by crypto entrepreneur Justin Sun, the piece isn’t just absurd—it’s profound, forcing us to question what makes something ‘art.’ Is it the banana, the duct tape, or the reaction it provokes? Like Duchamp’s urinal and Banksy’s self-shredding painting, *Comedian* challenges tradition and dares us to laugh at the art market’s fragile systems of value. 🍌

The polls are open as voters make their final choices between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump.

It marks the culmination of one of the most chaotic election cycles in history: A former president, convicted of felonies and facing dozens of other criminal charges, challenges a vice president who was elevated to the top of the ticket after the primaries when President Joe Biden, 81, bowed out of the race.

Zara Seidler and Sam Koslowski co-founded news outlet The Daily Aus back in 2017, after being fed-up with the way news was presented to young Australians. And it’s hit the mark: today, 70% of its 565,000 Instagram followers are under the age of 34. But with looming threats from Meta to pull news from its platforms, Seidler and Koslowski have embarked on a diversification strategy. Initially just an Instagram page – which has since grown to 565,000 followers – The Daily Aus has grown off-platform to launch newsletters and a podcast. Its podcast has about 130,000 monthly listeners, and its daily newsletter has an audience of more than 220,000.
