Psychiatrists express dismay at state of NSW Health
"I'm devastated" 💔
The NSW health system is approaching a crisis point, with more than two-thirds of its staff specialist psychiatrists threatening to resign on January 21.
On ABC Radio Sydney Mornings presenter Hamish Macdonald spoke to psychiatrists on why they are deciding to walk off the job.
"If this was about pay, I wouldn't be in the public system, I would be in the public system, I would be private earning substantially more," said Daniel who who works as a psychiatrist at Westmead Hospital.
"And so it's not about the pay. It's about the system and trying to retain the trainees, the psychiatrists who are coming through rather than letting them bleed to other states."
