We asked ChatGPT to describe the full production process for a corporate video. Turns out, AI's know just as much about how to make a video as we do, and we've been doing this for 15+ years! It's a good thing we have a body to actually do the work. Let's hope humanoid robots capable of operating cameras and lighting gear are still a long while away.

This was a really nice architectural video project to create. The Ainsworth Building designed by Architectus and built by Buildcorp is beautiful timber building, but of course buildings donât move, so to keep the film from feeling static we pushed cinematic camera movement into the shots to really bring it to life.

âHow much should I spend on video content?â and âCanât we just shoot it on an iPhone?â These are the sorts of questions I sometimes hear. Usually the client has already tried the iPhone option and realized thereâs a lot more to producing a quality video than they thought. As with any form of marketing content, your brands image is on the line. Hereâs why you shouldnât cut corners with video production.
This year for the Lowes Fathers day campaign Global Pictures setup a 6 meter wide green screen in the TV studio at Sydney Props Studios and created a wildly entertaining bungee jumping scenario. Prior to the shoot, we filmed the background plates and working from these we were able to match the lighting so that once the talents scenes shot on green were keyed and composited into the backgrounds everything would match. Ensuring lighting, framing and perspective is matching is the key to a successful green screen composite. We hope you enjoy this behind the scenes look at how we did it.

This frame grab produce by Global Pictures is from the latest TV ad for Lowes Menswear. The commercial was shot in a studio in Sydney. For this opening shot, we laid grey drop sheets covered in grey sand and rock on the floor and hung a black background. The video was filmed in slow motion to give it the low gravity moon walking effect. Finally, our VFX and animation team member rotoscoped the cast and composited the Earth background in while also blending the curved cratered moon scape in with our floor.
Did this cost the Earth to do (pun intended)? No. It was quite affordable and the result looks great!
Awesome to see this ad for Mona Vale Dental we produced posing up across social media! Here Global Pictures are filming a corporate communications video for a legal firm. The video is presented by two of the firms partners. Having a professionally controlled autocue on set makes it very easy for the presenters to deliver their 5 minute script. Neither of the presenters had been in front of the camera before but they delivered their parts like professional TV presenters as the autocue operator controls the speed of the script, working with the pace of the person speaking.
