Lest We Forget!
In 1918 our Pa (grandfather), Edward Joseph Bartley born 1886 was a returned soldier from WW1. He was in the 1st Australian Field Artillery Brigade, sent to Egypt, France, was hospitalized in England and was sent back to France. We are very thankful that he survived the War, our family feel lucky that we are here today due to his legacy.
Pa married Mary D’arcy and our father Ted Bartley was born in 1919. Soon to be followed by Mary and Darcy, Ted's sister and brother.
Pa had many issues, with unpredictable mood swings, at one stage admitted himself to hospital for help. No one understood his behaviour but these days they call it Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. So we now have a better understanding of how the horrible traumas of war causes long term mental illness.

Rest in peace Pa, we are thinking of you today.
