The Mandurah Giants

There are 5 giants in Mandurah and 1 in Perth which we are yet to see.

Can’t get over how wicked these giants are, the artist is extremely talented.

Definitely worth exploring them when you come and visit Mandurah, we took lunch with us and took our time going from one to the next.

Doing it with the made it even more fun!

Going to visit natures window just before lunch maybe not the greatest idea, I reckon I lost 5 kilos in the space of 10 mins 🥴🤣

But we wanted to go out for lunch in Kalbarri and let’s just say the pubs fish and chips was 🤢 which was disappointing as we don’t go out often.

We didn’t get the famous photo of hanging off the cliff as it was just too hot 🥵

Make sure you visit the Natures Window early in the morning if it’s a hot day.

It’s the friends you meet on the road that make a dent in your kids lives.

We met in Exmouth and these boys were inseparable the whole 3 weeks we were there.

Then we both were doing a house sit in Geraldton at the same time so the boys got to hang out some more.

What a life we are giving our kids, so proud that we can give this to them.

4 night stay turned into 8 nights at

In our opinion it was the best RAC caravan park we have stayed at and the best one we have seen on our travels in the last 2 years.

The dolphin experience was my favourite every morning at 7.45am, some mornings they may not show up but then one morning we had 8 of them show up, play and jump around.

We were on site 417 corner site with a view of the water and a quick 1 min walk to the beach where we sometimes see dolphin Ed swim past, turtles and Mantarays.

After 3 weeks in Exmouth we made it to Coral Bay and far out was she windy AF.

We couldn’t put the awning out, couldn’t sit outside without being blown away and we spent most of our time in the van.

We did walk along the beach but it hurt when the sand was being blown at your legs by the sand 😆😆😆

There is a good little bakery in town and Bills pub was nice.

There’s a jetty there but your not allowed to fish from it 🤷

And we wish we stayed at the Ningaloo Coral Bay as it had a pool and jumping pillow for the kids.

Whereas the People’s park was overrated in our opinion.

Osprey Bay Campground

We stayed 4 days and had 2-3 good days with no windy mornings.

Crystal blue water, sunsets, fishing, kite surfers, snorkelling and off grid camping, I mean what more can you ask for.

Best part was we only booked 2 days before we went which is the best part when you don’t go peak season.

You need a boat to get across to visit Sam’s Island and we were so grateful to Al + Niki from who took across.

I don’t know the full story, only what you hear…

Sam worked for a big company in Karratha and went on workers comp and they asked him what he wanted and he said this island, hence why it’s called Sam’s Island.

His kids would visit him and bring food across and believe it or not his place survived 2 cyclones.

It’s only a 5 min boat ride from the boat ramp, and I believe there could be tours as well if you don’t have your own boat.

And afterwards you can have a beer and some lunch at The Mermaid Hotel.

BARN HILL STATION, WA

One of the best parts of traveling late in the season is not having to book and hardly anyone around.

On the other hand it’s hot 🥵 AF with flies, but hey you can’t have everything right.

We spent 2 days at Barn Hill Station and we had a powered site overlooking the beach while the sunset behind us.

Playground for kids, goats, Guinea pigs and lawn bowls if you wanted to clean the big piles of s**t off it 😆 plus they had a cafe there with cold drinks, food and ice creams.

My husband and I had a party for two on the first night listening to music, laughing and reminiscing about s**t.

We were so fortunate to stay right out near the water past the caravan park.

We had this place all to ourselves for 4 days we didn’t want to leave, but it was hot as it was the week of the heatwave so no air con only fans but we all survived.

We camped up the top and the water was like 30 metres from our caravans but low tide it was a far way from us.

Blair from loved to take us all on an adventure where we saw some cool wildlife around.

Sunsets, fires, good company, laughs, music and board games, it can’t get much better than that right.

Quondong Point, Dampier Peninsula WA

6 days free camping at Quondong Point, with an ocean view everyday.

When the wind wasn’t around it was hot 🥵 but we had the beach right in front of us, great company and a view that was perfect, what more could you ask for.

Quondong is about 45 minutes from Broome if you needed to get more water, stock up and do the dump point as there are no dump points along the Dampier peninsula at all.

It’s really nice having space and camping outside of a caravan park for a change.

We had this gorge to ourselves for about 15 minutes and it was just beautiful to float and look up in the sky and just take it all in.

Well that was an epic fail staying at Renner Springs.

We thought it was a place we had stopped a couple of times to get fuel with a kids park out the front and caravan park behind the shop 🫣

We can see why people fill up on fuel and keep going plus it’s $50 for the 4 of us for a powered site and the only thing going for it was the 17 metre pool, everything else was average AF.

But it’s all about the experience and adventures right.

It was so bloody hot 🔥 that we spent a little bit in the pool and the rest of the time in van in the air con or over at the pub for some cold ones, air con and music.

Coming from QLD it’s the first pub you come to in the NT and the last when leaving the NT.

It’s our second time here it’s a great place to stay, really modern, clean, lots of red dirt, pool, fuel, food, cold drinks and live music.

Quick stop over at Camooweal Billabong another free camp but you can’t swim here unfortunately.

It did us for the night before we head over the Northern Territory Border for the second time in 12 months.

You need to be fully self contained to stay here as there are no amenities but there is a petrol station down the road about 2kms.

Who would of thought there was a pink lake in Australia 🇦🇺 Driving along the Pink Hutt Lagoon was a moment, we thought it was pretty epic and worth the stop. It’s not everyday you come across a pink lake.

Bel is terrified of heights so this was a huge deal for her to walk out this far! Being able to see the ground underneath her made her feel a little 🤢 Kalbarri Skywalk

We hit the jackpot over Christmas and new year and got a house sit in Geraldton for 3 weeks. We got to spend time with these beautiful doggies, Jezzabel, Booka and Thom. Our first housesit while travelling and it was nice to have some space too.

After 2 years I finally got on the SUP but it didn’t come without a few stacks. My balance isn’t as good as it use to be back when I was a dancer 💃 They were sneaky getting this on the go pro.

2024 The Cape The Gibb Crossed the WA border We got married Made new travel friends Bel did some sh*t that freaked her out Snorkelled with turtles Drove the van for the first time Travel life can’t get any better, life is just so simple, some days are up and some days are down but when you pull up to that place with a beach and sunset your heart knows it’s home. Happy New Year 🥳

Just a casual SUP ride out in the beautiful waters of Osprey Bay until you look back at your mum and…..

Casey just loves to fish, if there was a school that taught you everything about fishing 🎣 he would go 7 days a week, 12 hours a day. If you ever have the privilege of fishing with our son, say GDAY as he just loves to chat about fishing and help you.

And we finally made it WA!!!!! Tuesday 10th September we crossed the WA border and we all couldn’t believe that we finally made it. We just can’t wait to see what WA has to offer and the memories we are going to make.

GREGORY DOWNS, QLD Another free camp on the Savannah Way as we make our way to Western Australia. You can stay right on the river and walk out your van door into the water it’s unreal and it’s FREE!!! You can grab your noodle, bogey board, floatie or float down the river, it’s really fun and the boys absolutely had a ball they loved it. Pub is a 5 min walk up the road and it’s cheap. No unleaded fuel only diesel, so full up those Jerry cans as Camooweal is 260km away if heading that way. Toilets, bins and dump point across from the pub. Can stay for a maximum of 7 nights only. We bloody loved it here and thanks to @harvey_family_expeditions for the suggestion

Apparently I might have to take up bowls at some point….. not bad At around 3pm most afternoons there was a group of travellers who must do this every time they visit Mission Beach and it was fun as kids were playing as well.

The crossing to Elliot Falls, Cape York QLD There are 3 options you can choose to get across but if you want to get over in one piece I would choose this one. Someone had put a heap of rocks into one of the big holes to make it easier, however each time we did the crossing was different as the track had changed. This was as rough 4wd we did whilst in the Cape as we weren’t up for playing and paying for damage.
