In a sign of how the seasonal conditions in the district have deteriorated since September 2025 the National Livestock Reporting Service said yesterday's cattle sale in Singleton was the largest yarding since the February 14, 2018 with agents penning 1816 cattle. But in good news we did receive our best rainfall in months on Sunday night with parts of Singleton recording 40mm and Belford 55mm. In the same rain event Elderslie and Pokolbin scored 29mm. Storms yesterday resulted in falls of between 6-14mm. So fingers crossed the season is changing.

Today a dedicated pre-school educator Heather Nichols will start her next adventure - retirement. After more than three decades taking care and teaching Singleton's pre-schoolers Heather and her husband Barry will soon be heading to Diamond Beach.
In a letter of appreciation from St Nicholas Early Education Singleton they said Heather had meant so much to so many, and your kindness, dedication, and care have left a lasting mark on our community.
We will miss you dearly, but we are so grateful for everything you have shared with us over the years.
Best wishes to Heather and Barry on your retirement and thanks for your time and dedication to the Singleton community.
