I realised today that I have made many new furs that I've made into Echidnas but not actually photographed and posted on here.
Also, sometime last year I enlarged my echidna pattern so that I now make small and large Echidnas.

The Double Ds' got together this morning for a short toddle around Docs' park in Sheffield.
They're looking at the silly plovers who have decided to nest in the middle of the large open grassed area in the park. We were dive bombed twice while there - stupid birds!

Hi everyone.
I am a proud greyhound owner, I did not "rescue" "Deef", he is a retired racer.
For the last couple of months, in conjunction with his ex-trainers I have been developing a toy for greyhounds and large dogs called a Lure. It's made out of high quality faux fur fabric, has 4 heavy duty squeakers in it that continue to squeak even after being punctured, and has a super tough fabric enclosing the squeakers to protect it from being stabbed with those large canine teeth!

His ex-trainers have tested the lure on their greyhounds and even attached it to a winder (a training devise for racers) it passed!

I'm hoping to have a dozen made and available for purchase after the 14th of January (4 are already spoken for). They are $60 ea plus $15 postage within Australia. I can send these overseas, please send a PM for an international postage quote.

I have included in this post a couple photos of the furs that I'm using this time.

I have more than 25 years experience working with fur fabrics as a soft sculpture artist. The furs I'm using for the Lures are of high quality and value. They have a tough backing and come in a HUGE variety of colours. I will be changing these colours on a regular basis to keep things interesting.

The Lures can be purchased directly from myself at this stage. I have started a page called Deef,akaDirtyFeetAgain , this is where I'll be listing them as available as well as on here.

Hi Everyone
The furs that arrived a couple weeks ago have now been made into Echidnas. These are very bright and not for the faint hearted, but hopefully some young kids will like them.
There are about a dozen colour combinations in this type of fur, so lots more to come.
The last photo is a fur that I got about 6 months ago but I dont think I have shared yet.

Late last week I was contacted by the editor of the internationally renowned teddy bear magazine Teddy Bear Times and Friends. They have offered to do a "Meet the Artist" feature on me!
At first I wasnt going to because I am having trouble making bears at the moment but then I thought who knows what will happen down the track and just because I cant make bears at the moment doesnt mean I wont be able to in a years time, so I said yes.
The article will either be in the July issue of September issue.
The only other time I have been featured in a magazine was in Dolls, Bears and Collectables Vol 15 No 1. Which was issued around 2005.
My style has changed a lot since then and I am very much looking forward to sharing it with the bear world.
I will of course announce it here when it has been published.
I cant wait!

As I make soft toy Echidnas I thought I would post this about the real thing.

Random holes popping up in your garden this spring could be a sign of echidnas if you've got lots of ants, grubs, and things they love to eat on your property.

Hi Everyone.
Had a great night at the Twilight Market in Devonport last night. I sold a small wombat and a bear! I havent sold a bear for several years due to illness and an absence from the market scene so selling one at my second market is a fantastic feeling. i have attached a photo of "Tango" who was bought by a gentleman for his wife as a surprise (I think). I'm over the moon that Tango has gone to a new home. He wasnt cheap but nor are my bears as expensive as blasted Charlie Bears! (I have a real gripe about those bears but I'm not going into that now).
Thank you to everyone who stopped at my stall and complimented my stock, from the Wombats, Echidnas and Platypuses to my "Wild n Whacky" bears.

I have many disabilities but this is my passion and my way of keeping sane, so I really appreciate everyones' interest.

About the only thing I could complain about last night was that it was very noisy! With a beer garden and a restaurant surrounding the pavilion there were a lot of people and i'm simply not use to all that noise! They also turned the heaters on once it started to get a bit chilly and unfortunately I had been placed under one, I cooked! And so did some of my stock! But they are alright.

Today I am absolutely exhausted and won't be doing very much, although my brain is active despite the fact that my body is not! if your a craft person you will know what I mean.

Anyway, I will be back at the market next month and will post on the date closer to the time.
