We're putting the final touches on five inspiring short films we're excited to share with you during Seniors Week! 🎉

🙌 Several months ago, we called out to the community to nominate older residents who deserve recognition for their remarkable contributions. We were overwhelmed by your responses!

👵👴 Celebrating Community Wisdom is a special project launched by United Way Glenelg to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Lewis Court Fund.

This initiative recognises five exceptional older community members whose significant yet often overlooked contributions have enriched Glenelg Shire in education, arts, sports, disability advocacy, and diversity.

🎬 Through intimate interviews and professionally produced short films by Powerhouse Productions, we capture their personal stories to inspire greater community involvement and appreciation for the wisdom and impact of our senior residents.

Stay tuned for the release of these heartwarming stories! 💙

Or a Mammography Chair for people who have mobility problems and are unable to stand when having a Breast Screen whose value is $15,000.

This is a call-out to all community organisations who are running innovative programs focusing on providing health, education and financial stability opportunities for people experiencing disadvantage in the Glenelg Shire community.

United Way Glenelg will select three community organisations who have the opportunity to “pitch” their story at a spectacular virtual live crowdfunding event. This is your chance to tell your story, connect with new donors and raise vital funds for your organisation!

Do you know a senior individual who has dedicated their life to enriching our community?

Whether their influence has been felt in education, the arts, sports, disability advocacy, or fostering diversity, we want to hear about it.

In partnership with Powerhouse Productions, we'll conduct interviews and film the stories of these five individuals, sharing their narratives through short-form content leading up to International Day of Older People in October 2024 and help to commemorate the 10-year anniversary of the Lewis Court Fund.
